err

So today i went to this place called el malpais and it had a few cool places to check out. First i went to the ice cave and bandera volcano which was kinda cool but got boring after a couple hours. Other than hike up the trail to the top of the volcano and then hike down to the ice cave there wasnt a lot to do there. They advertise it as the two extremes of fire and ice blah blah but there was no lava there since the volcano has been stagnent for like 10000 years. Also the ice cave was dissapointing because they wont even let you go down into the ice anymore (like they show in the aDS.) So all i got to do was take a few pictures from the top. On the up side i met this guy there that was just retired and was basicaly dofing the same trip that i was doing in the opposite direction, so we traded info and i found out about a few cool lplaces to goto in arizona and cali if time permits.
Next i went to El Calderon which has a bunch of sink holes from lava tubes that were burnt out but also has a lava tube that you can actualy go into, which was the highlight of my day. When you first walk into it you still have the light at your back from outside and you think this is nothing, the lady at the information center didnt know what she was talking about. But then you get over the first dropoff point and then you notice that the only light there is from your flashlight. So after about a quater mile you can turn your flashlight off and the only thing you see is NOTHING haha it was friggin awesome. You cant see a thing and all you hear is the drips of water hitting the rocks and clay on the ground. So yeah i had a good time.
