Most of you probably woke up this morning expecting something, random violence, terrorist bombing, active shooters in public places. I had no concern for the happenings in D.C. but that is because I know the secret service doesn't fuck around. I assumed violence might break out at our state house here in Washington state, which is an unfortunate sloshing toilet bowl full of racist trash, but I guess Y'all Qaeda decided to sit out more federal charges after the mountain dew putsch.
Really though, I am absolutely astonished we didn't lose an embassy. After four solid years of our state department being hacked up and fed to the pigs, after the near elimination of our diplomatic corps. After showing our asses and our absolute weakness in the form of whiny Orange Leader and his shit stained followers strolling through the Capitol building, I really assumed we would have lost people overseas and I'm still holding my breath waiting for just that.
In the meantime, have your celebration today/tonight. Breathe your sign of relief, have a drink, take a shot, warm bath, read your book, watch your show. Tonight you do you.
Tomorrow. Wake up and get ready to take this establishment head on. Don't you go to sleep on me now. Don't you make with the fucking cat pics and shrug and pretend the last four horrible years were just an anomaly.
Tomorrow young black men and women will still go quiet and get that lump in their throat when a police car slows near them. Tomorrow 500 to 1,000 children are still going to wake up without their parents because of family separation policies. Tomorrow the planet will still be in very clear and present danger. Tomorrow millions of U.S. citizens will wake under the yoke of predatory debtors. Tomorrow, our nations leader will still be in the back pocket of the military and medical industrial complexes. Tomorrow millions of poor U.S. citizens will wake up with no way to get medical attention, no job, no food, and no future because we've all become far too comfortable with trickle down travesty.
Tomorrow you will wake up and it will be new boss, same as the old boss. Votes do not change that reality.

A friend of mine said it better than I could have; "I'm afraid that we'll start to see too much normal again". I agree with you, a symptom has been treated, our country still has a disease. Can't quit now!
