Postscript to yesterday's entry:
It's interesting how different people understand their friends lists. Some take them very seriously, others are like - whatever. I did expect something like that, but seeing it so clearly in just a small sample was an eye-opener nonetheless.
So until further notice I will treat my friends list as a collection of amazing people who are special to me for some reason or other and who have agreed to be in there. If they think of me the same way, that's awesome, but if I'm not quite so special to them, that's okay, too.
If someone cool requests my friendship in the future, I will grant it as I've done before. It would still be nice to know the reasons, so, as I've done before, I will ask. If it's someone I don't really know or like that well - yet - I will probably politely ask them to wait. But, as mysteryx pointed out, I don't and will probably never have a problem with unwanted popularity on this site like others do. Which is also a reason why I will probably never ask an SG or someone else who's very popular on this site for their friendship - unless I've got a very good reason to, like things rotting in my fridge.
Let me also say that I really like my little exclusive friends list right now, although mysteryx probably thinks I'm a pervert (which he secretly does anyway) and Salome suspects me of being an SG collector.
In other news - enough of those trivialities already - I've successfully managed to install the Best Linux Distribution Ever[TM] on my computer at work. Yay me! That said, installing Linux is not all that difficult, but there always seem to be a few extra hoops to jump through. Also, I've had the machine freeze 2 times since I started the installation, so there may still be some unresolved driver problems. Sound doesn't work, but I'm used to that. You are not told the secrets of Linux audio until you're ascended to the 23rd level of the secret society of the Tux, or so I'm told.
Everything else seems to be fine. Approaching dinner time...
