I went w/ Troll to the Joint Replacement Doc yesterday. Shot the knee replacement option completely down...there just isnt anything left of the knee to make it work. No muscle or tendons to actually make a replacement function. So, sucks, but he has 2 options. Fuse it or amputation of some form.

Last Tues when Troll had his check-up with the surgion at UMMC he was admitted for surgery that night. He has a staff infection. They had to go into the L ankle (the good leg) and take some bone and tissue...so now the R leg is completly put on hold....sucks so bad....

Quick update...Troll is home (as of almost 2 weeks ago) and is residing in his hospital bed in the downstairs dining/sitting room. He has a wide screen TV, the laptop and I hooked up the PS3...so he's pretty entertained. He still can bend his legs and has the fixators on both. Today was ok...I guess...I took Troll some homemade bacon/cheddar/onion sliders I made w/ the new "Big City Slider Station" he had me order...I went w/ him to see the doc...he recommended we see the head honcho (Vincent D. Ok..well, after me calling the hospital and getting switched around and Mom setting up camp we got details today.

Troll is "ok". He does have some infection but it's being handled w/ antibiotics and the flushing. They do have to re-do the (sorry forgetful)...thingy (stint?) to put antibiotics in...was too deep...gave him blood thinners to prevent clots (SCARY) BUT...We NOW understand the...
