Quick update...Troll is home (as of almost 2 weeks ago) and is residing in his hospital bed in the downstairs dining/sitting room. He has a wide screen TV, the laptop and I hooked up the PS3...so he's pretty entertained. He still can bend his legs and has the fixators on both. We go to see Dr. Pelegrini (a head fake parts doc) on Oct 23 to see if a right knee replacement is even an option...he is missing the whole knee and 7" of femur...
...I'm back on my Atkins (started Monday) and have dropped 3 lbs already. Prob just water but hey, the scale moved. Typically during the 2 weeks of induction I lose 10-15lbs...but I was walking and exercising before...now once I get home I'm on hubbie & kid duty...I know he wouldn't mind me going upstairs to exercise...but I'm still getting used to no carbs and have no energy...I'm taking vitamins and such...prob also staying up till 10pm and waking up at 4am doesn't help. Since Troll is down here I've been sleeping on the victorian sofa next to him. Sooooo not our 14" mattress pillow-top sleigh bed w/ satin sheets but at least he's next to me in the same room and not 1.5 hrs away (1 way). We're only up so late bc I help him get his meds and we change bandages and I clean his pin-sites on the fixators.
Things are stressful and there are so many factors that could come up and not work out well but at least he's alive and here right? We're getting through this day by day. Feels like we're falling in love again. Things like this really bring you closer. Well, gotta tuck the kid in and I'm laying down to watch Ghost Hunters w/ Troll.
