Bonjour, Hola, привіт, and hello everyone!
I know it’s been ages since I’ve written a proper blog, and I’ve probably lost a few followers as a result. Sadly, I haven’t had the time to care. I’m an extremely goal driven person, and I’m determined to finish my feature film production by October 2026, and my life has been filled with nothing but obstacles and delays. Yet, sometimes you have to take a step back before you can move forward. In this case, that means I will be placing a temporary hold on the production of The Revenge of the Bride of Frankenstein and completing the Star Trek fan film I started a couple of years ago. I need to gauge the efficiency of my film production process, and there’s really no better way than to finish a short film while documenting everything. For those who are still with me after all this time, you are in for a treat, as my animation skills have expanded a hundred fold. So, as always, I appreciate your patience while I work on this project, but I promise it will be worth it. Once it’s done I’ll be posting it on YouTube and other streaming platforms. So, if you’re inclined, please sit back and enjoy this behind the scenes preview of my upcoming Star Trek Fan Film, PRIME DIRECTIVE!
The U.S.S. Shadowcat in high orbit around the planet Skaia in the Eridani system.
This short film which will consist of two 15 minute segments which will center around the first officer of the Shadowcat, Commander T’Ashaya, just as the original project did. The Shadowcat crew receives orders from Starfleet Command directing them to proceed to the Eridani star system to take any and all actions necessary to prevent an interplanetary war between the planets Skaia and Aynolim. The people of both worlds were originally human colonists who first arrived on Skaia in 2189, but they have evolved rapidly due to the unusual effects of the radiation from Epsilon Eridani, the local star. The original colonists nearly failed in their attempt at establishing a human settlement on Skaia, as the planet’s sentient nature caused all of its inhabitants (none were humanoid) to treat the humans as invaders. It was only due to the efforts of those people who followed methods of living in harmony with nature that we were able to survive. Eventually those who focused their attention could commune with the planet’s essence and convince Her that they didn’t intend to exploit Her as we did the Earth. It was for this reason that we called the planet ‘Skaia’ meaning “shadow sister of Gaia.’” Yet, a hundred years hadn’t passed before those people who prefer to exploit resources and marginalize others separated themselves from their more flexible associates and eventually a bitter civil war broke out. Nearly 65% of the human population was decimated before the war ended thanks only to the power and message of peace brought by a reincarnation of the Goddess Oshun, from Ancient Africa, who was born on Skaia. After the war, those who could not bring themselves to live in harmony with the planet and their brothers and sisters who did used some of the remaining spacecraft to travel to the neighboring planet, Aynolim, which is significantly colder and harsh.
At the time of our story, Stardate 56754.8, the Skaians and the Aynolimi have been at peace for several generations, but the Aynolimi’s ongoing lust for resources and their marginalization of children born with an unusual reproductive mutation has strained relations between the two planets. In an effort to prevent a new and more horrific war, the Democratic Council of Skaia and the Emperor of Aynolim negotiated a treaty, and it has just been signed, but not ratified. Sadly, Aynolimi terrorists kidnapped the Skaian ambassador and are holding her hostage while making demands outside the terms of the treaty. Luckily for the Skaians, they have maintained close ties with the Federation, and for all that her crew is small and her usual missions are far less complicated, the Shadowcat is less than a day away at warp factor 3! For all that Captain Jennifer Michaels and her crew feel awkward handling the diplomatic role they must beyond rescuing the Skaian ambassador, Lyrresith Teranopolis, in the end fate will prove that no other ship or crew could have done the job, and the Shadowcat’s crew will benefit long term overall from their mission to the Eridani system.

“Prime Directive” is the working title currently; it may change. My own prime directive for this project is to complete it as efficiently and as quickly as possible! I’ll do my best to keep you updated and I’ll be promoting the heck out of the finished product when it’s done, even though it is a nonprofit project per Paramount’s production guidelines. As always, thank you kindly for following me, and thanks for spending a few minutes of your day taking a view into my world!
