Now I understand completely that when I spill coffe on my desk, I should clean it up - and as quickly as reasonably possible. All I'm saying is that if some of the drops splash onto the monitor screen, isn't it a computer related problem?

You would be surprised how narrowly some IT departments classify their job descriptions.

I've heard good things about the Watchmen. I may yet check it out.

The power supply was purchased at Canada Computers. One of my friends recommended PC Village for the system because he's found they have better service.

I don't have much of an opinion of Canada Computers, save that the store is too small but the prices are great. They're kind of like the Soup Nazi of computer upgrades.

That said, I was happy overall with my purchase from PC Village and will probably shop there again.

I plan on doing a page-by-page analysis of Watchmen on SG eventually. I may do this to celebrate my 1 year anniversary on SG, if I make it that far. It should be quite a spectacle. smile

so I ran into a friend from undergrad on the weekend and went back to his place (which turns out to be just a block away from mine). We caught up and hung out and stuff (he told me 'you know, when I first met you it was the first week of school in toronto, and you had blue hair and a nose ring, and...

That was general masturbating, not High-Fidelity-specific masturbating.

Although that one scene where Catherine Zeta-Jones takes off her top in the staircase... *shiver*

Even though you don't see anything, it's still almost unfairly sexy.

yesterday I was in one of those really huge chain bookstores. And they were playing '8 days a week' over the PA. And in every section, on every floor, there was at least one person humming along under their breath. That's why the Beatles rock.

And points for correctly indentifying "Fact: they should've been called the Fetals"

Just think of what the Beatles could have done with a $2000 soundcard.

Actually, that woman does have yellow skin.

The bagels here at Thomson-West probably are the pressed bread you speak of. However, the big bagel chains 'round here (Bruegger's and Einstein's) are done right...you can see the big boilers in back.

Ah, well, after a lot of stuff and time away from the internet, I am back.

rorschach:
Well originally it was private but it was hard to get people to join with only one person. So I made it public for now. I would like it Private to give it an exclusive feel just like in the book. Plus I will be encouraging alot of silly role playing biggrin. For each new member, after we go private, there will be a quiz on Narnia. That way they can prove how much they know...and if it's not easy to come in to the group, I think people will value it more. smile

I eventually plan to allow members to submit quiz questions for fun. That way we can keep the group bumping to the top.
rorschach:
Yup, that's one of the main things, to get people reading again so the information is fresh in mind. smile

w00t! w00t!

It looks like we have a new roommate! (see last entry for roommate finding woes). Me and the other roommate just met her tonight - she is about to study radiation therapy (which, oddly, my best friend has a degree in, so they can meet and talk about stuff).

rommate finding blues.

About two weeks ago my roommate (the one on the lease) said he wanted to move out. Now we live right across the street from a major university and rent is decent so there shouldn't be a problem, right?! Not when roommate waits ten days to put ad in university housing centre (he's the only one who could've done it for free,...

I will be off of SG until I figure out what is wrong with my computer and how it got past my firewall. It's probably nothing, but just to be safe.

update - OK, its not a biggie, just a brower hijacker, but I am going to use the net as little as possible until Thurs when the new windows pack comes...

So I didn't get hired to be a staff writer for my city's newspaper. Now, granted, I don't have a degree in journalism, but I sold a number of articles to a paper from the same owner last year. So I had hoped for at least an interview, rather than just a rejection letter. And I figure the law thing would have come in handy...
