You know, I consider myself someone who knows their way around an income tax form. And yet the federal government sends me its' reassessment, and for like 20 minutes they had me thinking I owed them an extra $3,000. $3,000! There is no way I would be off by $3,000!
And it turns out that I wasn't. I was really less than $7 away from...

Thanks!
I just got back from seeing one of my co-workers at a comedy club. I am glad to say that she didn't suck so I don't have to lie to her tommorow. It's weird though, becuase she's not particularly funny at work.

Only if Bush loses. There's no point in actually "counting" them otherwise since his bro runs the state. Ahh, family politics/corruption. The Bush's learned from watching the best: the Kennedys. Hehe

Oh my god! That would RULE!
Came back early from Ottawa because I lost my bank card so had to go and replace it. Home was OK. My brother, who was in Europe last year, bought me a Liverpool Micheal Owen jersy, and I finally got to pick it up. It was very nice of him.

Baby, you have no idea how much I wish we could chat more. I have a feeling you'd be the one to stop the torturous escalator.
P.S. Yes, the penguins rocked. You need more pics of yourself, by the way.

Heheh, the irony of a Canadian knowing more about football (ok soccer
) than an Brit.
Sorry to hear about your card and having to cut your holiday (ok vacation!) short. Hope you got everything sorted out.

I will be leaving shortly to visit my parents and grandmother in Ottawa. (We celebrate thanksgiving a week late in order to get the cheap turkeys). I will be back early next week - nobody steal my stuff while I'm gone!.

My roommates were gone for the holiday and I took the occasion to rent some movies i would've been too embarrassed to watch when they were around - ella enchanted, eurotrip, mean girls and 13 going on 30
Hey, I likes what I likes.
Eurotrip had a really good first 20 minutes but then was too sophmoric and silly (of course, what was I expecting)....

My mind boggles at film ratings.
Here in the UK we used to have U, PG, 15 and 18, that was it.
It was nice and easy, simple but effective, then they start messing about with 12's and putting letters (which no one has a clue what they mean) on then end of the original ones.
I have no idea what an 'R' rating is but I'm guessing it's adults (or late teens) only?
The breakfast club is a kids film! (ok it's one of my favourites
but still)..
Puppets? I'm not even going to begin thinking about that one~I'll get brain ache

So I got a little promotion at work. Same work, longer title, slightly higher salary increase this year.
But to put things in perspective, when this woman was my age, she was a frickin' judge. I am such an underachiever.

That's true, there was some great stuff going on at that time, sadly if you didn't have acess to British music magazines or go to clubs in north west England there wasn't much chance of you finding out about it. (hence the lack of knowledge to most outside the UK).
I was to young for the clubs then, but I had Q and late night radio

I'm impressed. I bet a lot of British people haven't even heard of Neds Atomic Dustbin. Your comment about James reminded me of the fact I have Gold Mother on vinyl in a cupboard somewhere. No decks to play it on though
Can anyone tell me where I put my glasses?
(I was going to post this on the current events board, but figured you guys might have a better chance of knowing).

I got a new CD- walkperson on the weekend, because my old one mysteriously died. It was very inexpensive and plays OK, but has no MP3 capability. The volume knob also turns towards, rather then away from, the front, unlike every other piece of sound...

Actually, I've been to Sudbury. When I was a kid, my dad did business in Canada, and he would take the family on 2 week working vacations in Ontario, Quebec, and Manitoba. I've seen the slag heaps. Cool.
In that last pic, BHL is wearing a Minnesota Wild hockey jersey. It was in the 60's (sorry, my metric conversion abilities evade me today) that day. There's always a stiff wind blowing off Lake Superior.
So, have you been indoctrinated to "MyThomson" yet? We switched our intranet over last week, and it blows. I'm the webmaster for our department, and now I have to go to 2 days of training in order to understand this carbuncle on technology.

Astonishing X-men #5 (by BTVS creator Joss Whedon) comes out tommorow.
The O Henry Awards 2004 should be due out any day.
Guess which Im most exicted about? Guess which Im pretending to be most excited about?

I'm most of the way through The Doll's House (i think that's the title) in the Sandman series of graphic novels.
I won't commit to out and out liking it (I think the art is often weak and while I recognize Neil Gaiman is talented, I also can't help but suspect that he's overrated), but I am awfully eager to curl up with the books at the end of the night.
So we'll see.

I've seen him a couple of times. Both concerts were great.
I can't believe it! Michelle Trachtenberg is filming a movie in my very city! Why, she's probably staying within a few blocks of my place! We could meet each other at any moment! She could fall in love me! I better start grooming myself a little better , for if (when! when!) it happens.
