When the U.S. looses to Finland it is interesting and good for the sport of hockey. When Canada looses to the Swiss it just feels weird.

I just caught Sportcentre. That's just... strange. Also, the goals they called back must have been a huge pissoff.

optimism:
Well, two goals disallowed. Not an excuse I know, but I'm not worried about this loss.

I wonder if Strip Clubs do good business on Valentine's Day. Or are all the strippers off on dates themselves?

You'd think with my adult oriented SG membership and all, I'd know more about these kinds of things.

Interesting... I haven't used Limewire in a long time. I will see if I can find what I'm looking for.

And yes, I'd be quite happy making an average theatre wage. Hell, some of the wages are quite good if you get the right jobs.

last night I dreampt I was a narwhal.

midweek update: pretty sure not narwhal. Am very happy that new Belle and Sebastian album is out, especially because CD store put all previous albums on sale! Got new album and two others.

Oh god I hope not... The thought of any part of that creep coming anywhere near my house makes me gag a little.

snowbear:
Is the narwhal thing a penis joke?

The parting on the left is now the parting on the right...Meet the new boss, same as the old boss

It turns out I was not needed to count ballots in the election, so I scooted out of my candidate's office really early to watch the results come in with friends. My riding switched from Liberal to New Democrats, so for once dholokhov has backed...

What are your experiences/or knowledge of Scientology? I ask you as you are one of the more politically aware people I have come across on here. smile

yeah put it on a girlie tee.

And yes CatBats would be awesome. When I was a kid I read the book Catwings. Which was about cats that had wings like birds. I loved it.

After some grunt work overseeing ballot counts in tomorrow nights election, dholokhov will be doing no more volunteer work for the remainder of the year at least. No more John Howard Society, no Canadian National Institute for the Blind, no more political volunteering. Nope, d- wishes to announce that after tommorrow, it will be all about looking out for number 1.

I spent a bit...

Dude, don't most people usualy resolve to do more voluenteer work around New Year's?

Or was that last year's resolution and now you've got a better handle on the whole idea...?

Re-elect dholokhov for 2006 as Speaker of the House in the Canadian Politics Group's mock parliament!

A vote for dholokhov is a vote for change! Unless it's bad change, in which a vote for dholokhov is a vote against change!

(Actually, I think Andvari just proposes titles and Freakpirate, acting on the authority of Fenris23, approves the choice. Just like in real parliament. So your...

wow I had no idea that city hall was on Star Trek, that's pretty cool. In a nerdy kinda way.

As much as I would love to see them fall flat on their faces I'm too scared of the damage they could do before the ultimately fail.

I know the chances of them making any drastic changes are fairly slim... but it's not a risk I really feel like taking.

Time for a real update.

Christmas has come and gone. Every year, far too much family gets packed into one kinda tiny little house in Hamilton. Most of my immediate relatives were there, except for my sister who lives in Bermuda. She called from the beach on Xmas day. She was like "D-, there is sooo much money out here. You need to learn a...

I am 100% certain I lost it on the way home from work, but the first thing I did when I noticed it was missing was try to ring it (how daft do you think I am?!) and no joy. Meh. I was overdue a new phone since it was ancient, but it's really bothering me about all the numbers and everything on it.

It's faster to hire Leo Tolstoy, but 1,000 monkeys and 1,000 typewriters is cheaper.

i got my camera back, and soon I will post Hallowe'en pictures of me. Until I get them sized, I will relate this little story. I was at my friends Hallowe'en party (no longer in costume), and two of the guests had brought their little child of about five or six years. At the beginning of the party she was very shy and would try...

Uh, Yorkshire accents. The trees live in East Yorkshire. So it wouldn't be, like, the cut glass single-sex grammar school thing.

A co-worker told me a story at lunch today and the allegory of it has stayed with me all afternoon and into the evening. It seems that several months ago she discovered that a mouse had invaded her apartment and had set up a home. She would catch little glimpses of it in a corner before it went scampering off, and mouse droppings would appear...

We had a mouse in our home room at school. It got into the loaf of bread I left there for lunch and I spent the rest of the week chasing the little bastard around with a cardboard box and a hammer.

The hammer was really just for effect... I wasn't going to hit it.

just remember you're at the stage where we were years ago. so soon it will be your turn and i'll celebrate right with you when you guys make it.

i am back. My computer now lives in a different case, but it has enough memory to remember every grudge and slight against it, ever.

Update: GAH!! MY USB PORTS NO LONGER WORK!! NO IPOD CLONE UPDATING!! NO DIGITAL CAMERA PICS!! NO JOYSTICKS!! This will not stand.

Cool! Well in that case I think we should do a mp3 swap. We should load a disk with mp3's and send to each other what do ya think?
The only thing is I dunno what you like have got. I will go home and do list of what I have and show you. I have heaps.
Do you wanna do that? Im dying for new music!! I am too poor to buy it.
dylan:
Haha, I like the way you think. If I was able to afford another place, I'd be implementing your plan right now.

Believe it or not, the best album of 2005 is by Cindy Lauper. You heard it here first.

I have an 80 GB hard drive sitting around that I want in my computer, but there aren't enough bays in my tower to put it in. So I may take it to the computer hospital and be away for a couple of days.

So are you talking of the album; She's so unusual ? Cause thats the bomb!!!

I heart Richard Simmons interviews. He always finds something completely bizarre to say, and he always delivers it with such... such... weird self-parodying earnestness. I am still not sure whether he knows how ridiculous he is and overplays the schtick on purpose or secretly thinks he's kind of cool.

It is lee-ahn-tay, accent on the second syllable. Unless some Tolkien nut wants to tell me otherwise, in which case I will have no option but to turn a firehose on the dude. tongue
