I took myself on a date to go see The Ant Man (I even paid! It was a matinee! I'm a cheap date...) which was, in true Marvel Movie fashion, absolutely phenomenal. However, the interaction I had beforehand threw me off a little. To preface this short story, I know the other day I said I was swearing off complimenting people -- women especially --

I know the feeling @deuteranopia I pride myself on being a very friendly and considerate fellow but it seems more and more these days some women automatically go into some sort of protection mode like they truly do not underatand that my holding open the door for them, complimenting them or standing when they enter the room doesn't mean I want to get into their pants... but I can't really blame them.. I've been participating in the Periscopes SG is doing and the sheer volume of guys just being jerks is overwhelming. If I were a lady I'd probably be adopting the "shoot em down fast, give a shit latter" attitude as well. It suck for those of us with truly honest and innocent intentions but I for one refuse to stop being who I am.

For those of you unaware, I used to consider myself something of a scribbler. I don't get a chance to really sit down and write anymore. Either I'm working or I'm distracted by being an adult. Perhaps I'll get back into the swing of things one day. In the meantime, in an attempt to find my muse, I've been thumbing through some of my old...

I'm sure there are plenty of reasons why I'm the cynical, pessimistic, self-loathing, yet caring, giving, and almost completely selfless person that I am today. I'm not a misogynist and claim that women are the cause of all my woes. I love women, and while I've been "done wrong" by a lot of them, I don't believe that they're the reason I am who I...

@shazzie23 The puppy is Scully. I don't have her anymore (a story for another time). There's absolutely no doubt in my mind, after seeing this photo, that that dog loved the shit out of me. I'd give anything for that feeling again.

@deuteranopia she's beautiful & im sure she did adore you!

It's been about four years, but I'm back. I realize I wasn't exactly "missed" here as I'm just one amongst a sea of dudes infinitely more exciting than myself, but I definitely missed this place. It's changed a lot. So have I. I'm no longer in the military (a story for another time). I'm back in Oklahoma City/Midwest City for employment (again, I'll get to...

I regret nothing. As I said, if it was something near and dear to me, I kept it safe. Otherwise, I don't feel particularly upset or guilty for getting rid of it. I kind of feel liberated, actually.
