Landmines are bad. That's pretty obvious, but I honestly thought that they were banned and that no-one still built or used them.
I'm wrong! The US hasn't ratified the anti-landmine treaty yet, and Bush has pulled back from doing so. Russia doesn't look like it's going to sign up anytime soon either, and they've got some really nasty landmines.
I'm practicing my handwriting. I write like a drunken monkey that's been smoking crack. And that's just been kicked in the head. So anything that makes it a bit neater would be a good thing. I should scan some and post a screen shot, but you'd all mock me.
Hope everyone is happy and well.
I think that a solution to the internet subscription of... Read More
Hey Z, good to hear from you, I've missed you around. I hope you find a solution to internetlessness soon, I know I'd go crackers without internet edit it's bad enough I'm stuck on wireless, which disconnects randomly for random amounts of time
I'll have to check out the book you recommended... my psychiatrist recommended one that's pretty cheap on Amazon, I should probably just go to the store and get both if they have them. I'm debating whether to wait until I have a job before I do... the funds are running low.
I've played surprisingly few gamecube games. I've beat Zelda Wind Waker, but I have Paper Mario which I played only a few times, and Metroid Prime which I've not yet played. I've had both for months. I guess I don't have the same enthusiasm about gaming as I used to.
So, apart from SG I spend my time doing "voluntary work" of various types. There's the stuff I do as therapy/'getting em back to work', which is twice a week for a few hours each time. That's all the gardening type stuff that I've talked about in the past.
Then I'm part of a service user group for people with mental health problems. I've been... Read More
There's nothing to say to that. It is strange, and makes me sad that we pride ourselves on living in a civilised world yet we can quite often turn a blind eye to that, and not give it enough exposure.
EDIT: I'm going away for the weekend, to visit some pals. So I'm excited, and a bit nervous. A weekend out of the house, away from my nest, eating weird food and stuff. It'll be fun. And odd. But fun mostly. I hope. No, it will be fun. Probably. No, really, it will be cool. Yes.
I might try to take a few pictures of... Read More
I like the new pic. As for a flatmate leaving lumber, I was once stuck with 9 banana crates full of wood that we'd gotten for this guy who wanted to use the fireplace. One damn fire was all he ever had in a year, and then I had to cart it all out when we moved because he'd broken up with his gf and screwed off to Holland for the week.
oh because my friends live in norwich and cambridge (respectively) and birkenhead and soon ill have to visit them because they're nagging me...so i was wondering if you were anywhere close so i could drop by and drink tea. *sip*
I'm playing with my profile picture, let me know which one is nice!
Today has been *really* good.
I had a lousy nights sleep. It's been very humid here recently, and the storms yesterday didn't do much to clear the air, and the cat was annoying as hell. So, I was a tad grumpy when I got up this morning. But logging on to SG... Read More
Oh mercy...it's been hotter than hell here in Sacramento too, makes it really hard to sleep. I really like your profile picture, something about it makes me smile and it portrays you as a genuinely nice, easy going guy. (I hope those are taken as compliments)
I dinked my knee the other day so I've been hobbling a bit. I was a bit panicked and thought I'd be limping for the rest of my life, but luckily it feels ok now. *phew*.
I have root beer!! MMMMM root beer. (A&W cans if you're interested. )
I'm starting a photography course soon, with some people called 'art space' (I think? Maybe 'art... Read More
I had actually looked into finding her when I was about 16. I went to a few organizational websites devoted to stuff like helping people locate long lost relatives or adoptees, and such. But I was getting emails back saying I was too young, and would have to wait to do a real search when I was a legal adult. And since then, I've just never bothered. But I always wonder about her.
I've got to fill out some forms that were given to me by my OT, about "Things I'm interested in'. Not sure if they'll want to know about SG or how the hell I'll describe it.
As part of my OT I have to pick up two carrier bags of rubbish, and take the bins out later.
Well babygirl liked her bed.... loved it in fact. Her birthday party is this weekend and tonight we will go out for mine. A big week and I'm wishing I was in France right now for Bastille Day!!!
I'm going to watch a film later, "Pieces of April" on DVD, so I hope it's not rubbish.
I am the untidiest person I know. Worse than that I am also the untidiest person that anyone I know knows too. I have a plan to tidy up, so wish me luck. I'd put pictures here, but I'm kind of embarressed... Read More
