You have a way with words. If you are not already planning on doing so, You should write books. I'm sure those who are alive, and those who are not yet alive, would love to read your mind. Leave us and the future generations something to wonder at. My favorite authors are long dead and gone, yet they are still right here... on my shelf. You should insert yourself on the shelf of knowledge. Make your mark on the world. I want my children and my children's children and my children's children's children to read your words. Every time I read your journal, I am amazed by the way you use our vocabulary. If you were to write a book, I'm sure it would be fascinating. Hop to it already... Do us all a favor...

this is called composite prose. it is when you take a complete written work & include it, verbatim, in a larger work, usually trying to answer a question posed by the original work.
the italicized words were written by
toneski & the rest is my craptacular additions.

thanks for the mixtape homie. here's my ode to your philosophical musings....

*sigh*

I have thoughts like those all the time... I often try to grasp the natural beauty of people and places, only to know that if it were in an art medium it would be easier. My mother is one of those lucky people that can do this at will. She tears up over sunsets... It used to bother me that she was cheesey and sensitive, but I grew up and know how amazing she is for that ability.

Its like seeing beauty rather than looking for beauty.

I tried to read this yesterday, but I knew my head wasn't into it. I'm glad I waited, it was a perfect morning read. Thank you.

the pontificating & pointless manifesto of julies tangential rant:

happy fourth of july, motherfuckers.

fireworks whistle across the night sky, like missiles seeking their targets. the projectiles stop mid-air and explode with an exaggerated baritone boom-snap. Like the illumination rounds and guided rockets that smear the Iraqi sky that hangs over 138,000 american troops heads. the nights dark is shattered by brightly colored clouds of...

Delusion said "eleven o'clock silence doesn't subtract from birthdays that stick to memories as love colored photographs or friendships that stick to the insides of your eyelids, photographs that you see everytime you close your eyes. don't let disappointment and regret poison hope and pride." that was beautiful. I really love that you take the time to write something so awesome for my measly journal.

The phone call went very, very well. I am hopeful & happy. Now I think the danger is not getting too hopeful. I just want to let things happen in as natural a fashion as possible. No pushing, no stressing. Right. Like I can do that. But I am going to try.

My birthday was the best. Truly a great day. Everything went really well with everyone. smile

Oh my goodness. What a beautiful real-life dream! Those are the best! So beautiful that you've shared it. I've been writing up a storm. Yes.

e.g.:

mirrorglass may shatter

doesn't matter what i think i thought i heard you say
you'll not be the one to chase me away
no victims in this consolatory dance
we're all family here, no one's shown up here by chance

no, doesn't matter what you think you thought you heard me say
we're going to follow this through, you and i,
we're going to break through to the light, to day,
we're all one here, and mirrorglass may shatter,
but it still reflects. reflects. reflects.

come
what
may

loose leaves
"like loose leaves we're falling/
with no way of holding on"

- nova scotia, from "loose leaves"

you know, i have heard it all
and i am done with excuses
bowed head, treading water
humbling won't begin to explain it

believe me, i can't bother to and know
you simply can't be bothered
(life's too short)

with no way of holding on, like
loose leaves we're falling
might as well enjoy the scenery
even in our stumbling we
somehow always manage to
maintain a modicum of
grace

of natural dignity

i wish that i could plan what that might
look like in advance

but my Darling, me i fall
(and fall and fall)
too fast

why do we say that we are afraid of the dark when it isn't the dark that we fear at all, but the possibility of what could be in the dark?

i remember being very young, sharing a bedroom with an even younger sister who had this fear that, to me, was always rather irrational. i imagined the nightmares that vibrated off the insides of...
