i'm thinking about getting my lip pierced, but i'm not sure whether i want a ring in the center or a ball on either side. hmmmm. any opinions? probably won't get it done for a little while. i have a dentist appointment coming up. so, i'm curious - what's your favorite piercing place in atlanta and why? also, favorite tattoo artists would be fun too....

so, we went to see land of the dead yesterday, which was very cool. we then went to target to buy paper towels and hair dye. i have never quite noticed before how much people walk like zombies when marching towards their shopping. and people were shuffling around the store and i kept expecting them to start moaning and eating chunks out of their own...

That was probably the best entry I've read in quite a while.
I was kind of disappointed in Land of the Dead. It seemed like it was a back-step from the progress of the other relatively recent zombie flicks: 28 Days Later, Resident Evil, Dawn of the Dead. In 28 & Dawn, the Zombies were much scarier as they were much more primitive and threatening than the shuffle-attack zombies of the earlier flicks. However, there were some enjoyable bits... Dennis Hopper's character was an excellent fit.

Shooting at zombies with guns would be pretty cool. Just as long as everyone was protected from them, and had a good source of food and water- you know, just like, propping open a window and opening fire for fun.

i need pictures of pumpkin vines. loads of them!
work rocks. i can have piercings and tattoos and probably dyed hair as long as i dress nicely. i love organizing books. we move into the new store tomorrow and then i get a 3 day weekend. my grandparents are coming down for father's day. also to celebrate the birthdays of both my ada and my...

pumpkin pics
These are what popped up. I still don't get why you want pumpkin vines though....do they have some significant meaning or is it just cause they are pretty?

ooh, Barnes and Noble!!
I'm so jealous! If I worked there, I'd have so many books in this house we'd have to move.
Why do you need pumpkin vines?

we had people over last night drinking and of course everyone was feeling pretty shitty this morning. even i wasn't feeling so great and i only had two drinks before going to bed. the plumber came over this morning to fix the leak under my sink, so i had to be up early. so everyone's been sick and my poor kitty decided to jump on...

whats your favorite stroke?
i love it when it rains like this. it's so beautiful and gentle. it's made the weather kinda cold and i'm craving soup. so i'm making broth with noodles. didn't really have anything else to throw in and i wanted something quick. i'm trying to decide what movie to watch. it's just a movie-watching kind of day. it makes me all sleepy and i want...

actually I have found that most of the books that they have at like Home Depot and other assorted home improvementy type places are usually pretty easy to follow. You just have to be confident and jump right in there. If it ever gets to be to much...you always know where the phone book is for the plumber. That's my theory at least, but I am all about doing home improvement type stuff. Many hours of my childhood were spent helping my dad with one project or another. Much luck.
dollbabyamy:
There's a home fix it book out by the people that make the "for dummies" series of books. I have a couple "cooking for dummies", "tarot for dummies", "power yoga for dummies" and if the home improvement one is as easy to use as those three, you'll be in business. I'm thinking of picking it up myself, as some things around our place need some adjusting.

romp!

You know, you can cut the butterfly bush back some if it gets too big. Up here we cut ours back almost to the ground every year.
You don't have to, but if it starts to crowd things out....

i feel like i'm always looking at my life through other people's eyes. if i just stay inside myself, i'm happy. i'm 24 and i own my own condo and car. i'm trying to get my writing career started. i'm about to be working in a bookstore. i live with my love and my cat finally gets to be inside and i have gerbilies and...

Remember, it only matters if you let it. Sounds like this may have bothered/hurt for a while. Sounds like you are letting go. Sounds like the right thing.
And, it sounds like things are going well! Enjoy life!

Hello... I saw your post in the gardeners group and came over to say hi!
HI.
I have two uncles (and their families) and a pair of grandparents that live in (or around) Atlanta. So, hi, again, person who lives 'near' my family.
And your birthday is four days (and three years) after mine! Hello again, fellow Christmas-time birthday person!
I was reading your update, and thought, wow, she's worried about what her family thinks about her when she owns her condo, has a job, is working on a writing career, and seems to be fairly well aware of what she wants and is working to get it. From that description, your family should be damn proud of you.
I'm sorry to hear that your father and his family aren't making an effort to be active in your life. It sounds like he's missing out on a really cool person.
So, back to the plants, do you grow anything at your condo? We lived in apartments for about seven years, and I was always growing things in containers on my various porches, windowstills, etc. At our last place (we recently bought a house and I'm still working on figuring out the yard) I was growing about 3-5 kinds of tomatoes in containers on my balcony.
Have a great weekend!
