i love it when it rains like this. it's so beautiful and gentle. it's made the weather kinda cold and i'm craving soup. so i'm making broth with noodles. didn't really have anything else to throw in and i wanted something quick. i'm trying to decide what movie to watch. it's just a movie-watching kind of day. it makes me all sleepy and i want to eat soup and sit all wrapped up in a blanket.
the pipe under my sink started leaking on sunday. they're coming to fix it tomorrow. hopefully they'll look at the garbage disposal too, because it doesn't work and that side of the sink drains slowly. i've been having to use it since the pipe on the other side sinks. the faucet upstairs sqeals sometimes. oh the joys of homeownership. i wish i knew something about fixing things. anyone know some good books to teach me? i would love to be able to fix things on my own and save the repair guy for bigger things.
soup's done. yummmmmm. now i need to go pick out a movie.

actually I have found that most of the books that they have at like Home Depot and other assorted home improvementy type places are usually pretty easy to follow. You just have to be confident and jump right in there. If it ever gets to be to much...you always know where the phone book is for the plumber. That's my theory at least, but I am all about doing home improvement type stuff. Many hours of my childhood were spent helping my dad with one project or another. Much luck.

There's a home fix it book out by the people that make the "for dummies" series of books. I have a couple "cooking for dummies", "tarot for dummies", "power yoga for dummies" and if the home improvement one is as easy to use as those three, you'll be in business. I'm thinking of picking it up myself, as some things around our place need some adjusting.
