'daedalea' is a character i created for a metal song originally, but since the band fell apart i decided to adapt the character for an epic poem i'm working on. anyway, in greek mythology, there is a story of daedalus & icarus, a father & son stranded on an island. they build a set of wax wings for themselves so they can escape & the father warns icarus to not fly too high. once they take off, icarus flies too close to the sun & wings melt & he crashes into the see. in my adaptation, daedalea is icarus's lover. sort of a tragic romance kind of story.
so that is where daedalea comes from. word.
good night all.

Hedningarna and Gjallarhorn are (partly) Finnish folk bands but the songs are mostly in Swedish.
Sanna Kurki-Suonio is a member of Hedningarna and sings in Finnish and the lyrics are from traditional Finnish source. Some really nice songs I think. Some translated lyrics can be found here
i'm trying to plan a trip to finland for sometime within the next year or two. from what my research tells me, it's absolutely beautiful, a land of many lakes.
