So I am once again taking a few minutes out of my non-existent free time to write a journal entry... This site is so evil. Oh well.

So yes, the Stephenson signing way back when (last Monday) was mucho fun-o, and I now have signed copies of Snow Crash, Diamond Age, Cryptonomicon, and Quicksilver. And that rocks. Other than that, my life hasn't been all...

Pft. I say you are rad, and I don't know how anyone could try and argue with me. I just started playing pool last week! I have been spending like 2-3 hours a day in there already though... I suck biggrin

How did you get all of those books signed? I thought he was only signing one older book per copy of quicksilver.

(and of course I was up until six! WAKE UP at six??? Don't talk crazy talk, man.)

So I have returned from my trip to Tennessee... And my grandma is doing much better, and I am quite happy. I am about two weeks behind in all of my classes, though... Which (of course) sucks. Oh well, though; I can make it up.

Other than that, life is pretty good, I think... Except that I went to a pool shop yesterday and tried...

So I dislike the fact that I will miss Flux's radio show this week due to my flight to Tennessee... I also dislike the fact the my flight leaves at 6:15 in the morning, as in order to make my flight, I have to stay up all night... I should work on my sleep schedule and try to fix that. But yeah, I will be...

Ah, finally have a few minutes to sit down and write something... Well, okay, I don't have a few minutes, but I'm going to do it anyways. So there.

So Burning Man was certainly fun, although it was annoying to have to spend the ENTIRE night before we left packing up the trailer and car with all of the communal things like food and our...

Here's a scary thought (or series thereof): I know the people with whom you did Burning Man. In fact I saw one of them there in her confusion of waiting for you. ....And I think I recognize you from your picture.

Hmm.. Small world.

I'm done with work for the summer! Yay!

Now it's time for a nice, relaxing week off (well, not so much relaxing, as I'll be doing all of the projects for Burning Man that should have been finished a while ago, but oh well...). And after that week, Burning Man. w00t. Then I'll get back Sunday night, and start school Monday at 9 AM. Sounds...

So I did really crappy at work yesterday (BOO), but did real well today (w00t)... So I guess it all works out. Looking forward to my week off and Burning Man... And school... I'm sure I'll be completely and totally dead for the first few days, since I'll be returning to Portland from BM the night before classes start, but I'll deal. And then it...

So yeah... I was totally planning on going to a pimp and ho party last night, which i think would have been loads of fun... But instead, I went to a psy trance party up in the woods. This did not end up being that fun, as I was tired, sober (rather than the massively drunk I would have been at the other party), and...

A few things - altered party plans usually suck hard. I find that the thing I first want to do in a night is the only thing I'd really enjoy doing anyway. I envy your ass, situated as it is at the originating point of the SG universe. And I'm flattered to the only one on your Friends list, but why? Who are you?

So my wound from my dog bite is healing up fairly well... And I'm doing fairly well at work this week... and I'm leaving for Burning Man in a few weeks now... So at least things are not going anywhere near as badly as they were last week. Or the week before. Well, I guess that they do say that crappy things come in threes,...

So yet another weekend has passed me by in which I was unable to catch up on the sleep I lost during the week... Oh well, I get to go back into work tomorrow, and I don't have to deal with Vancouver, WA... Which is pretty much the crappiest place on the planet to canvass door-to-door for the environment.

So that's good... and it's less...

So you know the saying, "When it rains, it pours"? Well, I am now a solid believer in the validity of such an idea. So last Tuesday, I was attacked by a dog, then last Thursday I was in a car accident. These things suck, but whatever, I am fine other than wounds that will heal easily. However, I was then awoken this most recent...

Sounds to me like you're due for some karmic rewards.
Hang in there man, it is a fucked-up world we live in.
Actually the world is what it is, but it is people like you're old acquaintance that are fucking it up.

i have found, for myself, in times like these, that a little bit of hermitage is due. granted, becoming a hermit is my solution for every problem, so take my advice with a grain of salt. yes, my friend, ignore, rest, drink warm things, read pop science books (e.g. who's afraid of schrdinger's cat and its ilk), and wait for karma to drop a touch of honey to your cosmic teacup.

barring that, go to the shelter and find a kitten to play with. unless you're allergic. then find a puppy. unless you dislike animals. then, uhm, pet a tree. a little tree. they can be awfully cute.

the world is sick, and it makes us so. fight that shit, darlin'.
