Reflections
2005 was a great year. By any standard - personal growth, song writing, gadget acquiring, job opportunities, it was a winner. 2005 was hands down the best year of my life.
The biggest thing I learnt this year regards reltaionships. I had dated this one girl for 5 years and thought we were going to get married. We broke up right at the ass end of 2004. Early 2005 I started dating someone who I thought I was going to marry. We broke up in April or so. And now I've met someone who I think I would like to marry, but I'm moving to another country in about a month, so we'll break up then. Yikes. Seems my parent's idea of marriages has given me some poor habits.
The woman thath I dated earlier this year is my best friend. We have such a good relationship. I've made a lot of new friends, but the most important relationship I forged was one with myself. I like that guy, he's pretty all right. Not too sure how I feel about his lip piercing, but hell, it's not like I'm gonna be kissing him, so I guess it's a non-issue.
Had my first big travel experience with one of my guy friends to Montreal and abolsutely loved it. I'm going to live there one day, and in the meantime I must travel more.
Have a job opp that's been in the works since Summer down in Oregon. Beautiful state, love Portland, hoepfully immigration case goes well and I can finally move there soon.
I have written the three best songs I have ever written - 3 songs that will be going on my album. That's 3 more songs than I've ever had before that I'm actually totally happy with.
Living with Brother/Sister-in-law/Neice has been so good. It feels like a family. It feels like a home. I love it.
Bought myself a condo, then rented it out when I was supposed to move to Oregon over summer. That may have been a mistake, but not one I could have known about, so I'm not beating myself up over it.
I've been on a bunch of dates with different people and have really started to learn what I like about people and what I don't. Turns out I'm Pretty Damn Picky.
On that note, I'll toast you 2005, you've been pretty all right. But 2006 is going to be Even Better with a capital Hell Ya!
Happy new year everybody,
Lucas
