Christmas was great!

Had one of the nicest family get-togethers with my immediate family Christmas Eve. Now usually any sort of Swick family get together consists of a lot of bickering, especially between my mom and dad, and everyone else trying to politely ignore, hoping it'll stop, and getting generally uncomfortable. This year however we were all prepared for it and had all agreed that if the bickering begins, we're either leaving or at the very least, saying something. We're all tired of pretending. They have issues, and sticking us in the middle of everything isn't fair to anyone. So enough of that.

Surprisingly, there was no bickering and everyone had a really good time. My sister-in-law-to-be cooked up a wicked supper, and my niece was so cute opening presents. I caught a lot of it on tape with my new camcorder (my present to myself hehe) and it's all very good.

And now my dad has called me to tell me he had the worst Christmas ever, and in the middle of explaining why, had to cut me off because my mom came home. SIgh. Such a distressing relationship....
