Hope yer financies equalize out better for you, trust me I feel yer pain, I'm in a very similar ball park right now in that area.

In hindsight .. *sigh* should have just hired a mover in the first place, it would have saved you a bunch of money and eliminated the need to pay your share of the rent @ your old place plus all of your stuff would have been moved in one shot .. it may be a good idea to sell the totaled car to a salvage yard .. see what you can get for it .. the engine may still some serviceable parts .. just call them and see what they can do for you. I suppose you had no other choice but to rent a car .. since you got your insurance check .. time to shop & get a new vehicle.
