I think I'll leave old Chuckiebaby up for a lil while longer. He's no Quentin Crisp, but he has written some great books... and Quentin, clever as he was, never thought up Gene Gene The Dancing Machine.
(for anyone who understands 1/2 of the above, I loooove you
)
Anyway, great things are happening.
I got an email from Jillybaby.
I got some good off-the-hook jazz-- Full Force by the Art Ensemble of Chicago. They get it on looser than a spruce goose. Lester Bowie has temporarily become my favorite Bowie. Sorry, David (his real name's Jones, anyway).
Also, I'm in the process of getting more fugk-hot and bucfugk jazz, the wheels are in motion.
I saw Eternal Sunshine... I liked it, for sure... maybe I love it, I dunno. It's not so much that it's confusing, as much as I'm not sure if I've interpreted the ending "right," and then... well, I don't want to get into spoilers. It's the only first-run film I've been to in 2004, and you all should see it, too. It makes you think. It isn't Ace Ventura, if that thought worries you. It worried me... but Michel Gondry directing kinda reassured me. Anyway, go see it, then I can email you stuff about it that I'm unsure of.
I love Coldplay. I'm sorry if that upsets anyone, but watching this live DVD, they're whole thing is godlike and moves me inside.
Also, I'm reading Life After God by Doug Coupland.
And I watched a bunch of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly while doing laundry.
I'd say I'm a simple man of decent ideals. I've had a great, great day from these things. These things put me over the moon. It is not necessary to have a billion dollars to enjoy life (and I'm looking right at Halliburton when I say that).
I wonder if Courtney Love will ever answer my Pending Friend Request...
