Here is my blog homework for this week
Share an heirloom or sentimental item with us and tell us about it.
Wow..... @rambo this one is really gonna hit my heart and will give my emotions out to all...but a great topic.
An heirloom or sentimental item I would love to share, is a ring of my mother's. It is a beautiful, blue gemstone ring. I would show a picture of it...but it was stolen from me 7 years ago. To make it even worse...my mother passed away when I was 8 years old.
I wore my mother's ring on my wedding day (it was something old and blue). For all I know, it may have been costume jewelry (so not a real stone or gold or anything). I would have never imagined that ring would have been stolen from me...but it was. Our house was broken into 7 years ago and along with countless other belongings that meant a lot to me in some way. I was very devastated...and also 6 months pregnant at the time. My mother has always been my strength...even after she passed. Because of her I don't smoke and never have (she smoked while she was pregnant with me) and I have learned to cope with and control my diabetes (she passed away from her diabetes as she did not take her insulin). As you can imagine, it tore me apart.
I wanted all the stuff that was stolen to be returned of course. However, if I could get one thing back, it would be that ring (two that I know of were actually stolen but the blue one was the most sentimental to me). To this day, that is one of the only things I want back. I searched all the nearby pawn shops to look for it, but it was never found.
Thank you again, @missy @rambo for letting me share this very emotional topic and thanks to all of you who have read it and delving into my life <3
