I was kind of hoping for a Boston vs. Houston World Series, which would have been a nice geographic parallel/metaphor for the upcoming Presidential election, but it wasnt meant to be. Still, heres my prediction: if Boston wins the Series, Kerry will win the election.

Im happy as hell that Boston won and OK with the Cardinals (they were my first home team but were supplanted by the Braves when we moved to Atlanta). The drama of the Boston-N.Y. ALCS was incredible. I cant recall anything like it in recent memory.

Thats what I love about baseball. It was the first sport I played as a kid and will always be first in my heart. Soccer thrills me as well, but it came to me later in life. Every baseball game carries with it memories of Little League games pastperfect days on green Elyssian fields of childhood wonder. We played for the sheer joy of it.

I guess I havent updated in a while. Work has been insane. Passage of the recent Tax Act has combined with normal Fall business and three days on the road this week (New Orleans and Chicago) all have made me look very much forward to this weekend. The forecast looks OK and I think the mountains beckon on Sunday.

Heres hoping you all get out and enjoy!!!
