It's been over a year now since I made my move to Paducah for my first real job in radio. When I moved, my goal was to learn as much as I possibly could and then move on after a year. Being that my entire family is in Cleveland, I eventually want to get back there and be on-air in my hometown.
Well...in addition to being on-air in Paducah, I also am the news editor, I voice and produce commercials, I schedule music, I update our news website and I voicetrack for a station in southeast Missouri. Basically, I wear many hats. It's been an unbelievable learning experience and I'm really fortunate to have this job.
With that being said, I feel like I'm at a point now where I'm ready to start looking to move up. I've been surfing the job boards the last few days and have already sent packages to 2 stations. Both of them are within 4 hours from Cleveland, which is much better than the 10 hours away that I am now. It's an exciting and scary process, but I'm hopeful that I'll find something soon. We shall see...
