As someone who spent the last 10 or 11 years of their career doing computer graphics and such I marvel at how incompetent I am trying to navigate anything online. I can hardly type beyond thirty words a minute - not that big a problem really since I was being paid for my design sense. But I have to admit I'm essentially clueless how to...

So, I've lost all my former information that was posted here, and that's good I guess. It alows me a fresh slate, but I haven't had anyrthing that interesting happen to me lately. I posted about my volunteer work in Houston with the Hurricane Katrina people displaced here, a few bits about house/dogsitting, a ew things about revelling in my parents achieving 60 years of...

No worries, I caught it for you.

by post-secondary i mean undergraduate level college/university. (secondary school is high school, here - up to grade 12). so, yeah, i'm pursuing a doctorate eventually. i've got a few years left, but i thought i'd start preparing for the future now. i don't know if i'll end up teaching, but i would really love to have that as an option if i do end up going all the way.

thanks for your comment. thoughtful. i appreciate the time you invested into giving me that advice. i'm lucky to have had a love of learning instilled in me as far back as i remember, and the idea of inspiring students to pursue their passions, to learn, ask questions, and maybe change the world... well, that'd be a dream come true.

I might be the most technoligically challenged member of this site. I try to post stuff, it doesn't appear to work. I can type (sort of) and I can spell, but I can't seem to grasp much anymore, perhaps a condition of my medications: prescribed and self medicated. Somewhere out there is someone adventurous enough to respond. I believe in you, even if you don't.

Housesitting for a friend, surrounded by 4 snoozing labradors, internet access and a gallon of vodka at hand. Life is good. Houston has been hectic with the influx of survivors coming in from the wake of hurricane Katrina.
I know I have a tendency to bitch, sorry, I'm working on it. Bibolarity doesn't improve with age as wine is said to. Let...

"Winter" in Houston, ridiculous. A lot of people may be envious of the warmer weather here in the alleged winter months, but I miss a good freeze. I wouldn't be dealing with mosquitos in January. I've only had about a weeks' worth of days I haven't driven with my AC on. I don't believe the typical Houstonian could drive in snow so I guess it's...

Christmas has come and gone and now it's New Year's around the bend, the worst time of year for me. So many people celebrate the passage of time and scramble toward whatever is impending, and I get so reflective of the people time has taken from me that I'm apprehensive about what's around the next corner. The care free days of my youth are over,...
