Housesitting for a friend, surrounded by 4 snoozing labradors, internet access and a gallon of vodka at hand. Life is good. Houston has been hectic with the influx of survivors coming in from the wake of hurricane Katrina.
I know I have a tendency to bitch, sorry, I'm working on it. Bibolarity doesn't improve with age as wine is said to. Let me share something fantastic...
I'm unemployed and due to this I was able to do a lot of volunteer work at the Astrodome and Reliant Centre here in Houston for the displaced. Their horror stories about the Superdome in New Orleans and the genuine gratitude for their ethical treatment here (which could stand improvement) are really heartwarming. I have my share of legal difficulties and struggles with all things natural and supernatural but can't help but feel that my life is enriched by the experience and better than I had realized. On the down side, I caught a nasty cold/flu? and need a few days recovery.
I'm not really sure why I continue to subscribe to this site having no internet access ordinarily and being so bleakly impoverished. But I so enjoy the fresh looks of youth and perusing the random comments posted.
To too many of you gentle (and not so gentle) readers I'm probably just a creepy old guy with voyeuristic hangups, but let me warn you, age will eventually harden your heart and force you to take less chances, but you only age when your fear ovewhelms you or you stop viewing the vitality that makes you unique. No one who knows me accuses me of being old. Want to understand or connect with an older person? Strip away the concept of age and just speak your mind. You'd be amazed to realize that once we reach the age of reason few of us turn back.
