From the book *Kiss of God, Wisdom of a Silent Child*, by Marshall Stewart Ball
Marshall can't speak, or walk, but using a wooden alphabet board made by his parents, he began pointing to the letters, writing at the age of 5 and half.

At the age of 6, after listening to a Bach cd, he wrote:

The wind changes direction.
There is lovely music...

Saw a great quote today: "Courage - there's still time to change the world."

Happy Birthday and welcome to the DVC
legionnaire:
Thanks for the newswire submission. I think I'm actually going to hold off on this story for now though, since it's still in the realm of pure speculation and I had killed an earlier story this week speculating that Kerry had checked cue cards or something equally ridiculous during the debate. If more evidence comes up then I'll run something, but right now I think it falls too far into conspiracy theorist territory.

Man, the heart is a tricky little muscle...
_sarah_:
If you're going to submit a news story, we need a link to the original article. You also need to do an original write-up. You can't just copy/paste.

If you'd like to resubmit the article about diaries, using those guidelines, I'd be happy to edit it. If not, I'll write it myself and give you what's called a "hat tip" (credit in the article for pointing me to the story).

"I want, I want"... I'm sick of it. If you want it, go get a job, earn some money and buy it. Why the fuck should it be given to you? You say you're so "poor"? Cause you can't get a new game/cell phone/dvd? That's hardly poor.Try going to Africa some time if you want to get a taste of poverty.. probably beyond your wildest...

Well, I have a job...and sometimes get the things I want...but mostly just get the things I need.
Wow...I just noticed you are all about words with B's or T's!
I just wanted to say thank you for the support!

Things You Have to Believe to be a Republican Today

Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.
The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.
Government should relax regulation of...

So... "Hero" is about to open - finally. And who's getting all the press? Quentin Tarantino... because he "presents" it. I saw him interviewed - he acted like it was his film. Even the TV and print ads make it seem like it's his. For chrissake, it's Zhang Yimou's film - one of the greatest directors in the world. And an artist who has risked...

Ever notice how often people who look unconventional are really pretty conventional once you get to know them? Without question, the weirdest people I've ever met looked like, oh, divinity students. You know, like members of the young conservative club or something. You couldn't see it coming...

that is the truest thing I've read today...face of an angel-mind of the devil....heh wink

Summer mmmmm list:
Massive Attack late at night, wind through leaves, watermelon and green grapes, outdoor music festivals, sun on skin, mojitos, being by large bodies of water, electric storms at night, sliding back and forth on each other's sweaty bodies....
morgan:
I don't think the whole "boys" thing has overtones, really, at least for most women I know who use it. It's just a cute way to say it, without saying "boyfriend" and without using something that sounds kind of overdone like "significant other". And "my man" sounds too much like a country-western song.
morgan:
We should come up with an entirely new word for significant others. Like..."bez". Or something.

A favorite:
"Just as my fingers on these keys
Make music, so the selfsame sounds
On my spirit make a music, too.

Music is feeling, then, not sound;
And thus it is that what I feel,
Here in this room, desiring you,

Thinking of your blue-shadowed silk,
Is music."
kiva:
thanks!!!
