That's my plan...maybe my soul needs to see more real green (not this dusty stuff I have around here) and I'll be surrounded by it in Iowa.

Going into my second weekend of derby-palooza.
I'm tired and elated. Dust Devil went well, way better than expected. I worked 11 games in 3 days, and was selected for the 3rd/4th place game, later I was told I was selected for that over the championship game because the two teaks playing were both Arizona teams, it was expected to be loud and a lot...

Woooo the derby crazy has begun. biggrin
The weekend before last, I went to Eugene Oregon to work my first *big* tournament ever (not my first tournament) with sanctioned and regulation gameplay. I got to work with some really incredible officials who I have heard wonderful things about and who I have seen work in tournaments.
Wowza.
Overwhelming.
In a good way.
I got pushed out...

I can't wait 'till derby season starts up here. My fav team is doing only one home bout that's open to the public this time, but they said they'd let me into the scrimmage and I could ride along for the out of town bouts if I wanted.
In other news, I've been skating myself almost once a week. Just skating. wink

Great stuff. Nothing better than going where you are drawn to go. That's fantastic.

My boss on a huge project in Woodside once had me over to he and his wife's San Francisco apartment (which was two separate apartment buildings connected to make a huge townhouse) and among the many objets d'art was a portrait of his wife as a child with her mother, painted by Dali, who was smitten with the mother and painted the picture as a gift to her. Pretty wild.

Have you been to the Dali museum in Florida?

Soooooooo jealous! Still working out the details for my back piece and shoulder but I definitely want two crows beneath the collar bones. I'm hoping that in the near future, PBI will be visiting the states for one of the tattoo conventions. He is the only one I would trust to get my dragon back piece exactly how I want it.

So, this has got to be the funniest license plate I have ever seen.
So funny I made it a point to stay "behind" the driver on my way to work and was hoping for a red light to catch a picture.

"Perhaps it wasn't the most well thought out license plate" but then again.....
You never do know tongue

For those of you that aren't...

what you wrote was so astute ...totally sums up what I'm trying to take from the experience. I may be pissed at her for being a chicken shit when it comes to communication, but I still wish her well and hope my honesty helps her to wake up and learn to treat others better. The truth is always better than silence.

I'm a little hungover, but I still had a great night ...so thankful for my community of friends, my favorite pub, deep conversations, good food and great music ...my heart is a little bruised, but beating strong <3
papat:
yeah ...it's gonna be a while before I can look back on this one fondly. I put a lot of genuine value in the idea of remaining friends. It really eats at me that this time it doesn't seem to be an option. I accept a certain degree of fault for pushing so hard for communication, but even if I were more patient, I'm not so sure it would have made a difference. (I'm clearly a little more grumpy today ...slept on my neck wrong and it's all kinds of seized up today)
