I allllllmost have all my Christmas shopping done. I still need to get my nephew (12yo) Sean his present, my niece Brandi (11yo) her present, and I'd like to get my mom something nice. All I got her so far is a Dory stuffed animal that I got at Disneyland.

A really bitchen gift indeed since she loves Dory and it's one of them gifts that is straight from the heart and has lots of meaning behind it. No matter what, it'll be the most cherished gift I'll be giving this year cause she'll always have it and it's just such a neat lil thing.

Still, you set a $5 stuffed animal (which was picked up on one of my many many nightly jaunts at the place I'm at more than I'm home) next to all the flashy laptops, ipods, samurai swords, gigapixel digital cameras, cars, super motor yachts, $15,000 concert tickets, and all the other stuff with big flashedy blinky lights and it just don't got no "wow factor". But I have no clue what to get her. Next to a new house or and of the other 100,000 things that would be great but aint gonna happen.

I figured, for one person, I'd give them a blank check. How cool would that be to receive a blank check for Christmas? I figured I'd give that to Brandi (my 11yo niece in case you've forgotten the start of this rant). No matter what I'd tell them that if they write it for more than $250 it's gonna bounce and such and anyone I give it to would be considerate enough to listen. Basically it wouldn't be any different, gift wise, than giving someone $250 in cash. But the look on someones face when they realise that the check is totally blank with nothing but a signature would be classic. As would be the look on everyone else's face who's nearby and looks at it and thinks "whoa! I want a blank check for my gift too!"

For Sean that's gonna be the most awesome gift I've given. It's not just a gift ... it's a system! The present itself will be a BMX race bicycle. It's not just gonna be for him. Im gonna ride it too. Sean is getting to be kindo large and really needs some excersize. For the past few years all he's gotten has been video games. And, the way that his life has been, that's kindo all he's able to do is come home from school and stay home sitting on his tush and play video games. Some racing will be very good for him. Me too since I'm not getting much excersize myself. And I've always wanted to have my own race team. Even if the team is just one guy, that's still a team and it's tons of fun to teach him how to race and how to win and such. I did it once before and it was the happiest time of my life since I've been alive. I really do hope that it turns out the way things did last time. biggrin
