From September 12-15 2006, the National Championship Air Races and Air Show will return for its 43rd year with six classes of racing aircraft and a first-class airshow including some of the world's top aerobatic performers and military aircraft, and plus static aircraft displays, merchandise, food and drink, and a closing awards banquet.
If you've never seen an air race in person you should definitely go. Aside from the fact that there's a weekend in Reno, the races themselves are utterly incredible. One of the most moving experiences I've ever had, that's for sure. And I've had some pretty god damn moving experiences.
I have my brother restoring my Supercedes right now. Hopefully it will be in perfect condition by the time I leave. I want to have him completely redo the whole car and bring it back to show condition. The inside isn't doing so hot, but there's maybe $100 in cost of parts from pick a part to get it back to ship shape condition. The outside lacks maintenance, but a bit of spit n polish and it'll shine right back up and be a decent car again.
Last year I promised myself that no matter what I was going to Reno. Well, that didn't happen. Shortly beforehand we went on the whole endeavor getting the wooden boat and I figured that I better not go. There will be NONE of that this year. I don't care what comes up, I don't even care if my mom is struck by lightning and killed putting her funeral on the date of the race. We'll fuckin webcast the services or something. I will NOT miss the Formula One race this year. I even missed the main for the Formula One race last year because I overslept. This year nothing is going to get in my way or I'm gonna kill people. Seriously. Til they're dead.

And now ... Time for Bengal BBQ. ![]()
Edit: Bengle BBQ both rocks and sucks now. On one hand it's still just as delicious as it's always been. They still use the same recepie and it's utterly delicious, better than any dish I've ever got in any of the finest restaraunts SoCal has to offer. But on the other hand, back in the day you used to get 3 skewers for $3. Now you barely get one for $5 and it's skimped beyond all recognition.
And in other news .. the T-Cups suck ASS! you can't pull jack SHIT on them. You can't barely even get into the ZONE! let alone get PAST it. It's total bullshit. Makes me feel like I'm going to fuckin WDW. What the fuck sense is there in that?! The cups ARE Disneyland for me. Without pulling fast runs on the cups there's not much left. Just a few shattered dreams of memories past with this special girl who is into some dipshit now. Before I had that I'da had nothing left of Disneyland. Least I still got that now though. That'll never change. Poor girl knows not what she's done. I do though. And I'll never forget it either. I saw it tonight when I was across from Jungle Cruise and saw this amazing pink cowgirl hat. I looked at it and thought how there couldn't have been a more perfect hat. Then when I looked at it the thought of those perpetually pouty lips rushed into my head and I couldn't get them out. No matter what traumatic events have happened in the mean time I still remember those lips and that nose. I never really saw those particular features as being all that attractive but they are pretty unique and came with feelings and emotions that I'll never find anything other than perfect. No matter what ever happens there, I'll still remember those lips and that nose and I'll get a huge smile on my face. Life was just so perfect then. Although just for a single moment, all I ever dreamed of was mine to hold and cherish. Ah and how I did cherish it. So rare that it happens that you have perfection in your fingertips and you realize it and do actually embrace it. It's pretty great when you do.
The preceeding, although 130% true and some of my most personal thoughts, was a drunken rambling done at 3am when I couldn't sleep. ![]()
