It's that time again people. Every so often I respond to someones journal with a response that ends up being a huge rant. And with it being so big, and something that yeilds insight into me, that I decide to paste it here as a journal entry. This one comes from SunGhosts questions about creationism.
Why the creation?
I don't think there's a why to our existence any more than "What was the purpose of my cars tire blowing out?" being a valid question. "HOW did the tire blow out?" might be a valid question, in inquiring about the events leading up to it to ensure that you can control future events to prevent your tire from blowing out in the future, but the tire itself never had any intentions at all to begin with. Nor did the chunk of metal that you ran over. They just manifested themselves and appeared together for a moment and the result was that you were late to work.
What is the man?
In reggae, he is called Babylon. They wear their hair in dreads to differentiate themselves from him by being the opposite of the clean cut white business man in a 3 peice suit. I represent Babylon in how the reggae artists portray him in every way shape and form with my lifestyle. In dress I dress more sloppy than a reggae singer.
Where does evil come from?
It comes from upbringing. It comes from the events that people see that molds them into the person they are. Homosexuals are seen as the epitome of evil to some. Racists and racial cleansing is seen as the epitome of evil to some (E.G. Hitler (or in reality Himler) and the nazis). Each person views behavior in a different way. The nazis did not see what they were doing as being evil. They actually saw their behavior in the same light that priests see any divine behavior. Not too long ago killing the most beautiful virgin girl in a town was seen as the ultimate in divine ritual. Today abducting a 14 year old girl and killing her is seen in a drastically different manner than it was a few hundred years ago. Now it is seen as true evil. Back then it was seen as the most holy thing anyone can do. Evil is not behavior. It's the impression that a given behavior has on someone. Evil is not an act, it's a view. It comes from the viewer.
Why death?
Every product has a life cycle. The tires on your car, the car itself, your computer monitor, your hard drive, a rock .... everything. We aren't any different. Its actually better this way. If there was no death there could be no birth. If you belive in creationism then you'll have to belive that death was designed into our creation. That or there are an unlimited number of inhabitable worlds out there that we can travel to. How can a creature that can not be destroyed be created that, above all other things it's motivated to do, is motivated to reproduce, how can this indestructable organism exist in a finite spherical world? If people were to live forever, with no death or disease, how many years would it take for them to completely overpopulate the earth to where everyone would be squished together like at a concert? Humans can not have been created without death in mind.
Death or infertility. Which, if my memory of biblical teachings serves me right, Adam and Eve had not had any children until after they ate the apple.
Rather odd to think that god only wanted to create two people and not the civilization that exists today isn't it? But assuming that god did create perfect humans with Adam and Eve, humans who never died, there are only two options available. 1, that there are (er were) an infinite number of inhabitable planets out there and we could be transported to them, or 2, that man was created infertile and could never realize his primary motivation.

youre the LOVEABLE asshole silly goose
or 3. man created god to cope with his finite existance, as a control mechanism, and a way to fend off the uncertain, in fact, its scientifically proven all human beings are hard coded with a 'need' for belief in some extra force, be it divine, cosmic etc.
-shrug-
