Ok, I'm not one of those people who send funny You Tube videos to my friends, but I've been obsessed with this guy FOREVER. I have this on videotape and I've shown everyone I know and it's FINALLY on You Tube (I tried uploading it myself but I'm an idiot and couldn't do it)
A little backstory: in 1987 when Stanley Kubrick made "Full Metal Jacket" he took an ad out in "Variety" asking for unknown actors to send in audition tapes. This is one of those tapes.
I'm so in love with this I don't know where to begin. Please note his insanely arrogant introduction where he calls himself the "finest" actor Stanley Kubrick will ever see, and "the most beautifully trained". Notice his fake snooty accent. Notice how he INSULTS Kubrick by telling him that he's not his favorite director.
The "performance" is even better. He's doing a scene (or a "cutting" as he calls it. What the fuck is a "cutting"??) from "The Outsiders". If he haven't seen the movie, the character he's playing is a tough kid who has broken his back and is now crippled (A clip is presented from the actual movie at the end), but for some reason he plays the role as an angry old black man-who sometimes seems retarded. It's so fascinatingly strange that I'm obsessed.
PS- also notice his leather jacket that he wears to look like a "hood"
