Hey hey!

Gf's out there now, so i'd better get my ass in gear, but i've got plenty to figure out before then (renting condo, etc.). Plus i'm dragging my feet 'cause i'm so rooted here but the move is inevitable... probably by 4/1 or so.

Dunno about Sac, F's looking for places in the city now, probably somewhere around the Mission. A good place to visit at least wink

PS I know i got an email from you a looooong time ago so i might try to dig it up.

I have yet to really squeeze the juice out of Vegas. I need the overwhelming Vegas experience. I'm guessing you can't really do this on a family vacation...

In the spring of 2001 a friend and coworker left a CD on my desk at work. We were (and are still) in the habit of recommending music to each other constantly, labeling every new find and must-listen as the best thing since the last record we swore would save rock and roll. This CD had a different sort of note attached; it was a...

finding the good stuff amongst all the meaningless filler is so rewarding though, even though it is harder to seek out. i listen to so much old stuff, predominantly so, and pretty much consider myself out of the loop with contemporary stuff as a result - fortunately i have the kind of girlfriend who is constantly nudging me with headphones and saying 'here, listen to this'.

a lot of stuff i listen to is nostalgia, admittedly. memories ties to places and people, and i can listen to that stuff, and remember first hearing it a- where i was, who i was, what i was doing and how i got there - and more so, i can trace a line from there, to here, and i think it's kind of cool, just as it is to know that going through the bad patches, made the good patches that followed all the more bright.

and yes, oh inverted world is an utterly amazing album that just never gets old.

This morning the student I have bribed to make my pot of coffee ("hot pot of coffee!!") every morning reported that there was barely enough ground to make two cups. I broke out an emergency vacuum-sealed pack of Jack Daniels-flavored coffee that wound its sinister way via one re-gifted basket o'crap or another into my hands. It lingered around more for novelty's sake than any...

My friend (who's visiting SF from the ATL right now) claims he hasn't had a bad cup of coffee since he's been there. He's concluded that one would have to look hard to find one.

Can you confirm?
memorandom:
yeah, flavoured coffee has always baffled me a little - i kind of subscribe to the 'if it aint broke, don't fix it' way of doing things, especially with coffee - no milk, no sugar - it needs nothing more. fortunately they make some good coffee in sweden - scotland was a country of people who drank that nasty ass granulated, freeze dried rubbish with no real character, here we have stuff that my soon-enough-to-be-father-in-law calls 'abortion formula' and i wouldn't start my mornings any other way

Ok, without detracting from the general awesomeness of the above journal entry, it's really time for a new one. We need some more BBKaro prose. Or some general ranting at least.

Hope you're well man.

I blame staynobody for this.

I am suddenly, irreparably obsessed with Sweden and all things Swedish. How can such a small (talking population here) nondescript country generate so much cool? Observe: after perusing staynobodys year-in-review (which is quite good, actually, minus a few glaring omissions which well go into at a later date when our Idle Time Top 20 gets posted), one album caught my...
