I got a voicemail this weekend from a friend in Yuba City. As long as I've known this guy, including the time he lived in Sacramento, he has been trying to get me to visit "The YC." Stories about weird okie folks and altogether implausible Twin Peaks-style anecdotes about random people and places have entertained me, but never truly encouraged me to pack up for...

Well hello and thanks!

Ahhh Yuba City. My roommate dated a boy from Yuba City. This new info about "The YC" is very eye opening indeed.

cleveland is ok, i lived in ohio for a long long time and i like having seasons- even the sf version better than the version here...

and as for the hookers, i meant that they are interesting to WATCH, silly boy.

everyone should have a Vegas experience once, and I always enjoy leaving wink

i recommend the 72 hour faux bachelor party weekend- gets almost all the stereotypical Vegas situations out of the way in one fell swoop... wink

I'm going to start gauging my life by quarters.

As I look back on 2004, I can very easily focus on the many positives. I've said 2004 was a good year to a good number of people. That's not to say there weren't rough spots but, come on! We're talking twelve months of danger and intrigue! Some unfortunate shit is bound to occur.

I made...

most definitely "cheap and pathetic".
i don't know why guys do this but it makes them look pitiful and weak. [and obviously, according to my journal entry; it makes them appear ignorant]

Eventhough I will miss this place, I do need to move the hell out this state! Out of the NorthEast part of the U.S. actually!!! Maybe it will be worth the sacrfice, lol. I could always come and visit.

I love food... I think when I get rich I will have my own personal chef. Yea, that is totally a diff route your GF has taken. But what she is doing now is FUN I bet. Better than being in an office all day like me?!

...the top 5 records of 2004!

5. Jackpot - F+
Anybody who thinks Cake is the best band in Sacramento has obviously never heard Rusty Miller and the Jackpot boys. A good deal better than their '02 record Shiny Things and a whole hell of a lot better than just about anything released by anybody in 2004. Download "Upside Down."

4. The Arcade Fire -...

Hello there fella. I for one am doing pretty darn well, thanks for asking. How about you? Compilation CD? What do you have to do to be one of the lucky recipients of that. Oooooo fun. I love music.

10. The Black Keys - Rubber Factory
These two guys get better and better with each album. This, wailing, bluesy romp is pure guy shit. And they're from Akron, Ohio. My buddy's girlfriend is from Ohio, and, because of my ever-increasing appreciation of Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach, I am no longer allowed to make fun of her...

15. Maritime - Glass Floor
This is a personal favorite of mine. I've been a Promise Ring devotee for years now, and following the post-Wood/Water break-up, nothing vonBohlen composed with his Vermont side project came close to bringing back the feel-good sadness of mixtape-era TPR. Until now. VonBohlen, years after recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumor,...

I liked the Tom Waits album. It's not casual listening, but I wrote a play almost exclusively to it.

I'm waiting for some Saturday Looks Good To Me to download right now . . . and have you heard about Frank Miller writing All-Star Batman and Robin?

2004 is a rapidly fading memory which means, of course, that it's time for a year end music wrap-up. Over the last couple years, I've involved myself more and more in a club of fellow music obsessives, and have participated in a consensus list of the top 20 records released during the year. Our book of liner notes gets thicker every year, our compilation CD...

being a current vegas resident... i have to say that the killers should be handed out with the porn cards on the corners at the strip... like a requisite thing. good stuff. people in australia gush over it. nz, not so much. but in nz they like ass bruises much better, so its really a wash?

It has been a long time since I checked in. An unreasonably long time. I've tried to stick new pictures in various folders as I wander, thinking that would be a quicker method of updating my SG persona, but if I don't start taking the time to write in this here journal then I fear I may disappear entirely.

As, apparently, some of my SG...

Hello there mister. Just checking in. Hoping all things in your world are blissful and you are walking around without your feet even touching the ground. Yay, that'd be cool.
