I'm back in LA, but those of you here won't be seeing much of me this visit. My grandfather passed away today; other than tomorrow's meeting, I expect I'll be a recluse until I've flown back for his funeral.

Arrived in LA a day ahead of schedule. The weather was trying to wash away north Texas about the time I was thinking of (literally) pitching my tent so driving through the night became the order of the day.

I'm job hunting again, and it's going oddly.

One of my climbing gym friends mentioned an opening, so I put in an application, and this went well.

I mentioned this to a game programming friend, and he pointed me in the direction of his company's hiring page. I put in an application and this went poorly.

Maximus, the last of my goldfish, passed away today.

So far as silver linings go, this means I'm down to just guinea pigs, which I'll have that much more time to devote to caring for properly.

Today, I have been pooped on by a butterfly.

I have found out that one of my favorite husband-wife professor teams at the university is expecting. More baby computer scientists is a fine thing.

I have no third thing to complete the tempo here.
