I'll be heading back to Mobile to say goodbye to the remaining grandfather this weekend. The hospice nurse tells us he's likely to still be communicative through the weekend but not much longer. I'm thankful that this time I get to go back while there's still someone there to hear the goodbye. I'm thankful that some of his stories have been saved for when he will no longer be able to tell them. I'm sorry that they aren't the ones that seem important now, like how he met my grandmother, or what it was like when mother was born.
