Laptop stolen.

Nice try, world. You need to be sneakier than that to get me down.

My hostel has a sign warning that their Internet service may not be used for pornographic purposes, and that the police may be notified if we do. Meanwhile, on the telly, BBC3 is showing boobs on a tour of sex clubs.

Oooooh...you just expanded my knowledge of geography! I had to look some of those places up! Do you have a timetable on the very slim chance that I actually make it out of the country this year (I assume your flight back to Lalaland coincides with PAX)?

On the flip side, I can lean up against walls here without getting covered in centuries-old dust.

Waking up. The heavy wood bedframe is likely older than the country I come from. It goes up to the bed above, to a second floor of wood installed in the middle of the room, to another bed, and another. Privacy curtains block me from the sight of the other nineteen folks sleeping in the room, but their sleeping noises make it through.

Good morning,...

This time, a month ago, I got back to Berlin, with an Anomalisa in tow, and a d23 left back in Marrakech. So many photos, so many stories, I haven't known where to start. But let's take this one piece at a time.

... . . . . .

We met up in Madrid

I'd left Spain the time before with a sour taste in...

All of which makes your travel tales that much more nostalgia inducing to read.

It is a pretty idea. I once had a similar idea involving old metal fan blades, but likewise don't know enough about music to pull it off.

Hey - I saw you're in Germany now. Where are you? I'm in Brussels, so if you're anywhere in the Western part of the country we're practically neighbors.

Hope you're doing well.
melladoree:
Thanks honey! I am still working on my letter of intent! I have 12 more hours till it is due smile
You might be right, although when I lived in San Luis Obispo it might have been worse. I think there it was more of the hippie lifestyle though. I just have to remember not to take it personally. Here I feel like people are always waiting for something better to come along, that could also be that I hung out with too many gay men and they are that way about everything!

We left Cadiz at dawn, tracking back down the Spanish coast by bus to Algericas. Memories on the bus ride of swapping stories with Anomalisa, not-so-secretively passing a bottle of manzilla between us as we share stories and d23 naps. Another bus hop later brought us to La Linea, and a 5 more...

In addition to the above, I'd also like to visit Essaouria. Ideally, I'd like to save up enough to do a NA/Middle East tour. I love tajine! I had a chicken and almond one when I was in Toulouse (fr) (large Muslin/NA population) at Le Riad.

You've been in Germany long enough when you see a Hitler meme and hear the real dialog instead of reading the joke.

I've been nostalgic, waiting for sunrise, going through old music.

Placebo's cover of Running Up That Hill.

Jeez, we were 15 miles apart on Thursday. My airport experience (at Gatwick) was not at all as bad, rebooked in like 8 minutes for the following day. Had been in London a few days so some contingencies were pre-set by Wed night. Was in T5 yesterday and you could hear a pin drop; security took 3 minutes so I was pretty happy.
maike:
You've got a nice trip plan, but no more crossings it seems. I did Beijing, London, Portugal, Philadelphia in the last week. I'm in London next on Jan 27. You planning on Casablanca too? Will you be staying in Berlin for a while after Morocco? That may be a possibility in April.
