Smoking only seems like a good idea for me when i'm a bit drunk, but then I somehow end up looking like a mega-skeeze merchant, it doesn't suit me in the slightest

On a sidenote you are really good at portraits and shape when it comes to the human body. I really can't draw people well at all and it sucks.
And sounds to me like you're just in a funk and think too much. It's something creative people do and you'll get over it
