The sims!!

Hahah! Nic had that game, and put the two of us in the game, but then Nic's little sister gave us a baby that wouldn't stop screaming so Nic put it far far away, down the street.

We were happy again after that.

so my favorite thing right now is a Family Circle magazine from 1964 that i saw at my friend pam's house last weekend. god, i just couldn't take my eyes off the photos: absurdly tight shots of meatballs being basted with gummy red sauce, vegetables suspended in...

my computer at home has committed suicide. i push the button and nothing happens. thankfully i am an obsessive backer-upper.

i'm thinking of not having a computer at home for a little bit. or is that just crazy-talk? surreal

a new year present -- a favorite love poem by my favorite new york school poet, kenneth koch.

"Permanently"

One day the Nouns were clustered in the street.
An Adjective walked by, with her dark beauty.
The Nouns were struck, moved, changed.
The next day a Verb drove up, and created the Sentence.

Each Sentence says one thing -- for example, "Although it was a...

Hiya,

About coming to NZ and wanting to know what to do... well i guess it depends on what you like to do. If you want to do touristy stuff then what casphar said will do you fine. Otherwise ... what do you like? outdoors stuff; art; film; coffee; music? wandering? Plently of that stuff where I live (Wellington).

Well, your friend lives in Wellington right? They will probably know all the places to go anyway, but if you want someone else to hang with in the capital: feel free to look me up!

churches and weddings bewilder me. today i went to a wedding where the guests were asked to partake in communion as part of the well wishes for the couple. i had already decided to opt out when my boyfriend's dad and brother motioned me up to join the throng. i panicked. i went up. i ate the bread, but just couldn't bring myself to drink...

im bapatized greek orthodox, and even though my parents were hardly religious...(faint smell of marajuana, joni mitchell records, yoga and a bevy of eastern mystics and teachers books strewn about...you get the picture)
when i was really young and would visit my "ya ya" and "pa poo"
in harisburg pa, i was forced to eat the bread and drink the wine on sundays at church...that cummunal spoon was so traumatizing..i get shivers just thinking about the dread of that shared oral experience....bleh!

two asters rebelling against each other would make a great movie *girlfighttonight!*

how go your plans of coming to nz? As I was saying on maybe1day's journal, you should checkout queenstown, it's the ultimate tourist destination we have.

Aucklands just another city though, try and head south as soon as possible smile

going to bed tonight thinking about christmas eves at my gramma's when i was a kid. my cousins would come round and we'd spend the whole day there. my grandma and aunts always cooked up a giant meal with foods that were mysteriously guaranteed to bring us all prosperity, health, and long life. the noisy clatter of my aunts and uncles playing mahjong made...
