"The more the two sides try and call attention to their religious differences by slaughtering each other, the less there is to distinguish them from one another. They worship at the same altar. They're both apostles of the same murderous god, whoever he is....

Right now we're sipping from a poisoned chalice-a flawed democracy laced with religious fanaticism. Pure arsenic."

I went to the Bodies exhibit in Atlanta today. Human bodies, tendons, systems, ligaments all preserved in polymer, I loved the circulatory system wing-it was dark with bulbs lighting the capillaries and veins used to transport blood though out the body. I loved the human body cross section-I think it took up about eight feet or more.

na, no plans for St. Patty's Day. Yesterday my Roller Derby team and I were in the Philadelphia St. Patricks Day Parade... so that's something. I'm not much of a drinker.

Sore throats suck! Drink lots of tea...or lemon, honey and hot water. Feel better.

That sounds awesome. You are a brave woman for venturing under the bed. I've heard that the bogeyman lives there.

Looking at Jessy's journal entry (she got married), I can't help but remember my great-aunt's reaction to my aunt's wedding.

My aunt had arrived to cart me from Columbia to Greenville to Grier(SC) to Dacula (Ga). I was at my great-aunt's house at the time being, and witnessed the incident.

My aunt told her that she had gotten married, of which my great aunt...

Matsubayashi Okinawan Karate! smile It was what was available, and then I'm the kind of person who gets an unreasonable loyalty to anything she starts, but hey, it's cool! My sensei teaches in a traditional way, and includes info on Okinawan culture and stuff. She's very cool, and is the only person in the world I wouldn't want to find out I was on here. biggrin

Rest homes of the future will have to cater to the pierced and tattood amongst us! "Ma'am, I'm here for your sponge bath and jewellery cleaning." biggrin

I just finished by scholarship essay for SIT and my essay for my student disclosure form.

Now I have to
Schedule a doctor's appointment for a physical.
Write a letter to my homestay family (required)
Straighten out my insurance stuff for study abroad (insulin for eight weeks, emergency prescriptions).

And I got a weeks extension for my short story since there isn't a...

Went to Java monkey today to taste tea for a short story. I chose the Lapsang Souchang. It taste like smoke and if I had been in a kitchen, someone would have come running in and asked if something were on fire. All I could taste was smoke over the pine needles in the tea. I...

I love wasabi, it's the best bit!
Apart from when I over estimate my capabilities and put way too much on and it makes my nose and ears tingle hideously!
suntlacrimae:
That is a lovely quote.

That tea sounds good. I have a strange affinity for smoke and things that taste smoky (especially smoky bourbons).

French is going well. I got a 100 on the quiz today-I was overjoyed because of this. I wish I had time to take more French classes before I'm done with undergrad studies.

I finally saw Brokeback Mountain the other night too. The theater started the movie earlier than it was suppose to so we got our money back and watched it for free. The scenery was really pretty.

It was over a month ago that you told me "You have a beautiful Siamese"

For this I thank you, he is the joy in my life!

Trust me, driving through France is not that fun wink

Well, the Chair of the Poli-Sci deparment is giving me 4 credits for the programs and the others are going toward elective requirements.

Seriously, I'm considering finishing my Poli-Sci degree elsewhere after I graduate from here. It seems everytime I deal with PS it leaves me physically and emotionally drained.

I need to look on the postive side.
My mango chamomile tea came in the...
