Some cheeky blog homework set by @penny and @kyrie!

My Top Five Favorite Films

Hey, everyone! I wanted to share something personal today—my top five favorite films. These movies hold a special place in my heart, and I could watch them over and over again. If you’re curious about what I love or just need some movie recommendations, keep reading!

1. 28 Days Later

This film was my introduction to both horror and Cillian Murphy, and it was love at first sight. "28 Days Later" is one of those movies that just doesn’t get old. It’s intense, emotional, and brilliantly done. The atmosphere, the story, and of course, Cillian’s performance make it a standout in the horror genre. I can watch this one anytime.

2. Deadpool

No surprises here, especially if you’ve seen my Domino photoset! "Deadpool" is the movie that got me into comic books, and it’s become a go-to comfort watch for me. It’s hilarious, action-packed, and just plain fun. Honestly, there’s nothing better than a "Deadpool" marathon when I need to unwind.

3. Raw, by Julia Ducournau

"Raw" is a more recent favorite, but it immediately left an impression. I’m a big fan of coming-of-age stories, and when you mix that with horror, I’m all in. This film isn’t for everyone—it’s intense and definitely not for the faint of heart—but I love it. It’s one of those movies that sticks with you long after it’s over.

4. Cube

I have a soft spot for social science fiction, and "Cube" is a perfect example of why I love the genre. It’s a film that I can rewatch endlessly and still find it as intriguing as the first time. The way it explores human behavior under pressure is fascinating, and it’s a movie that always gets me thinking.

5. Into The Spider-Verse

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched "Into The Spider-Verse," but it never fails to hit me emotionally. Miles Morales is my favorite Spider-Man, and seeing his story told so beautifully on the big screen was something special. The animation, the characters, the story—it’s all just so well done. This film is an all-time favorite for sure.

So, those are my top five films. They each mean something different to me, but they all have a permanent spot in my movie rotation. What are some of your favorite films? Let’s talk!

I have not watched 28 days later in years, but it was also my introduction to Cillian Murphy, and it was a great take on the zombie genere, almost a reboot of the idea when it came out if I recall. I don't know if there has been a horror genre zombie movie I've liked as much as it since it came out. Of course, Zombieland ranks up there, but for totally different reasons.
