yeah, private press wasn't as good, but did you really expect it to be? i mean, for some reason people have the expectation that an artist's albums should get progressivley better with each release, but fuck, how do you top an instant classic with an even better album? people get suprised when shadow, rjd2, interpol,etc release sophmore efforts that aren't as good as their debut. i think thats just to be expected, very few artists are capable of surpassing the bar they set for themselves. private press is an interesting and very respectable effort. thats about the best i could have asked for.
