Did the clinic volunteer thing again early this morning. Got to leave early, though, because there were actually too many of us.
I am starting to get annoyed by some of the older clinic volunteers. They are generally nice people, but some just seem to be there for show and to banter with each other. And, they stand around and sometimes are more of a blockade than the people we are there to protect the clinic from. It isn't a big deal and it is great that they are there. I just wish they were there when it mattered (like last week when there were 20 people blockading the clinic, it was raining sheets, and there were only 4 volunteers).
When I left the clinic, I wandered all the way back from Silver Spring to DC down Georgia Ave. It is a neat walk and there are all sorts of interesting little neighborhoods and shops. Plus it cleared my head and I got back into thinking about some of the combinatorial-oriented stuff that work has kept me away from.
And, my roommate finished her thesis today, so the apartment can go do fun young people things again.
