Well, the time has finally come. I may have to actually go get a job. I had estimated that I would have to do this much earlier, but that doesn't make it feel any better. I spent about 4 days drinking, watching crappy movies, and sleeping for extended amounts of time.

It is surprising how difiicult it is to find an adequate-pay type job in the physical sciences. There are applicant lists a mile long just for some of the research assistant positions I've been looking at. I also signed up for Peace corps work, but my loans are such that my obligations here may disqualify me. The only people I've heard back from recently were positions for the Department of Defense; many of which are just weapons testing. I don't think I will accept any of those, but it amazes me how so many mediocre people manage to get jobs and it is so difficult for people like myself to do so. What the fuck?

Anyways, next week looks to be interesting. Not only is there the inauguration, but the anniversary of Roe v. Wade (There was an anti-abortion protester that physically confronted a young lady who was going into a clinic the other day. I almost tackled the guy.). I will probably be helping out at clinics in the area the entire week if I don't have any interviews. Good times.
