Fables is a wonderful book and has been at the forefront of the new age of Vertigo books along with Y: The Last Man and 100 Bullets. Created by comic book veteran Bill Willingham, Fables takes all your favorite classic fairytale characters and explains what they are up in the 21st century. The ones that can pass for human, live in the cities and...

When my store was running, I suggested this title to everyone. Subscription rates went from 2 up to 48 in a few months. It is one of the best written titles out there right now, I highly suggest it to anyone, and everyone.

Fables is one of the top sellers at the store I work at, I have to admit, I was first attracted to it because of the beautiful cover art ::hangs head:: but Im definitely digging the story now.
Tony ONeill has had a wild life as a musician, writer and junkie. Hes chronicled the rough part of his life in the book Digging the Vein while he was detoxing from methadone.
Buy Digging the Vein
Daniel Robert Epstein: Is Digging the Vein autobiographical?
Tony ONeill: Pretty much. I didnt want to write it like a memoir because Im not really into those books....

A lot of people out there think thats its not a good idea for these ranting and raving pundit types to have their own TV shows. Well now weve got our very own incensed host on TV, Henry Rollins with the aptly named The Henry Rollins Show. For those who may not know of Henry, both of you, Rollins cuts an imposing figure in the...

Sir Ben Kingsley is one of our greatest actors and I was a bit nervous to talk to him. Before I saw Lucky Number Slevin I was even more nervous because Kingsley's output in the past few years has been spotty at best. His choices of films such as BloodRayne, A Sound of Thunder, Suspect Zero, Thunderbirds havent been offset by great films like Oliver...

Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich have turned their show into the breakout hit I predicted it would become. The show has a major following [a million people is no longer a cult] and are deep into their second season. I got a chance to chat with them about the highly anticipated DVD of Robot Chickens first season.

Mates of State are made of the sweetest couple in the world, Kori Gardner on the organ and Jason Hammel on drums. They even have a little baby who goes with them on the road. But just because they a nice couple with child, it doesnt mean they cant rock the fuck out. Their latest album is Bring it Back.

I totally agree with this statement, I've only seen them once, and I was blown away, I think it was my top show, right next to The Shins.

Sean Croghan is an old friend of deceased singer Elliott Smith. Thats why I was so surprised to see Croghan covering an Elliott Smith song on the new tribute album To: Elliott from: Portland. But once you hear Croghan play High Times you will understand why it had to happen.

As the star of such 80s classics as Action Jackson and Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol, Sharon Stone was the object of many film geeks fantasies. She increased that demographic when she became an international star with the lead in Basic Instinct and later her Oscar nomination for Casino. Now Stone is reprising her role as the bisexual murderess Catherine Tramell in the sequel...

I think Sharon Stone is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood and I'm looking forward to seeing the character of Catherine Tramell come back to the screen. I hope this sequel does at least SOME partial justice to the original (although by the sound of Anton's comment, it doesn't). Still, I'm willing to see for myself. Great interview!

I totally agree with her last answer about nudity in films. I love this woman.
Doing the interview with Veronica Monet was the first time Ive ever talked with a professional escort that didnt end up costing me $300. Monet is a semi-retired escort that has just written the book, Sex Secrets of Escorts. It details all the things men want that she has gleaned from her 15 years of servicing men. While some may look down on the idea...

I have not studied the NZ system or Holland that well but I do know in Australia it depends on the state with it being legal in some and not in others. But in places like NSW and ACT by law safe sex has to be practiced at all times and the last time I checked those working in brothels had to have helth checks which is a fair call really more so for the sake of those working then clinets. Other then that is like any other job. I see no problem with prostituion and I am an avid supporter legalisation and allowing to to happen. It helps a lot of lonely and shy men for companionship even for a short time. A friend of mine who works as one has often had men pay for several hrs and all they did was just lie there and hold each other no nudity or sex just the companioship.
I feel the things like porn and prostituion being open empower women not degrade them. These women take control of their lives and do what they want. I take my hat of to them. Why should men be able to do what they want and not women and the same men still expect it from women just not for them to be happy, open and enjoying themselves.
Ladies heres to you and takeing it to them men.

This is a really interesting interview and I respect Monet for the power that she has in shaping her own destiny...however, I do disagree on one point that she made.....If a woman wants to start baking and selling Mrs. Fields cookies, she has to uphold certain kitchen health and safety standards as regulated by her local government and even sometimes beyond that. I think that if you are running a business where someone could potentially get an STD (or for the Mrs. Fields baker, salmonella poisoning) you should certainly have to get monthly health checks and if your employees (or whores, or work environment) is/are not 100% free of any health concerns/STD's, those who are carriers of anything should not be allowed to work (I am not, however for big fines- sooo unfair no matter the business!). I do think it's cool how in NZ, though they only have to pay taxes like any other small business- that is fair.
