please, give me some clue as to what the big deal with that film is, there were nowhere near enough laughs in it to be described as a comedy. i loved seeing all the things that have been the cause of in-jokes and references over the years, and its influence on basically every college movie made since was obvious, but, damn, why wasn't it funny.

I was an avid part of this scene. I remember when Tony was one of the main draws @ the turntables during Communion (Tuesday nights @ The Limelight) with Neville trying to promote it initially. They even had Dave Kendall (from the original 120 Minutes on MTV back when it was good) trying to be the voice of Communion as it's accouncer when bands would play, but I distinctly remember how his reputation went down the tubes after he got axed from MTV and people grew tired of him. As far as the club night itself, It grew into a major social event until Disco 2000 took over the spotlight and thus the murder/coverup that many of us in the scene know about. I have to admit though; I was knee deep in drugs in that time frame (between 1991-1994) tripping on acid or microdots; sneaking in a knapsack full of whip-its and 8-balls for my friends so they can do bumps all night in the bathroom by the back bar (the unisex one) and smoking massive amounts of kind bud. Communion to me was also the spot for many amazing shows. I remember distinctly seeing Inspiral Carpets, Sleep Chamber, Faith and the Muse, Front 242, Front Line Assembly, and Killing Joke to name just a few, so it wasn't just a night of partying in the Geiger room completely zooted off my goard! I'll always remember those days with fond memories neverthess. I'm glad that Tony's still going strong w/ Jamming...

I've known about Dennis, and who he was... but I really didn't look all that far into it. I love getting the behind-the-scenes story about some of the things that grab my interest.
