- The probation officer (ugh, there's that phrase again) I saw this week dated one of my fraternity brothers - a guy I lived with - when they were in high school. Contrary to the cliche, it's obviously a pretty big fuckin' world (though oddly weightless. ). But sometimes you have to wonder... what are the fuckin' odds?

- Jane called a couple of nights ago. She was under the weather and feeling self pity 'cause she doesn't have anybody to take care of her, so I let her cry on my shoulder. I miss her and enjoyed talking to her, and I'm glad she feels she can call me, but I have to keep in mind that there are reasons other than distance that we're no longer together.

- I installed Fedora Core 4 this week and compiled my custom kernel last night and this morning. I'll probably never accomplish it, but I'm gonna go through the boot log and try to address every thing that's abnormal. I already had to download and build pine. Feh. Looks like my device mapper - support for Windows dynamic disks - isn't working
mount: /dev/mapper/mp3 is not a valid block device
That's too bad, 'cause that's where all my mp3s are. Well, I'm on vacation all next week, so we'll see what I can get done.
