Well, I found out tonight that men are actually just a substitute for cheesecake that is filled with chocolate and covered with caramel. Fuck guys. I'm eating cheesecake. Well, it's a good thing I've renounced them because no one is going to want a FAT old biddy.
I watched Freaky Friday and just can't get over how funny it was watching Jamie Lee Curtis act like a 15-year-old girl. Man, what a riot. So painfully heart-warming, too.
I've been reading Cryptonomicon to avoid doing any actual work (god, that thesis can LOOM, I tell you) and... ah, haha, I was just reminded of the Necrotelecomnicon from The Light Fantastic... haha... but anyway, it occured to me that people write a lot of science fiction, but no one writes math fiction. Okay, it would be boring most of the time, first of all, but aside from that... how do you fake new math? "Oh, yeah, he proved the riemann-zeta hypothesis years ago and it turns out that..." that what? I mean, you can say someone invents a warp drive and that enables you to, you know, get places in space in a reasonable time span, but what happens when you prove big math? I suppose the only intersting things happen in science. Well, factoring in O(n) time has obvious ramifications, but like, they're sorta boring unless you throw in a bunch of science fiction, like telepathy or flying cars or something. Eh, I dunno. I think this whole "away from school" thing is making me wacky. On the plus side, I've been having awesome sex dreams, you know, that involve Britney Spears n stuff.
My hair looks nice black. I'm glad I colored it again. I've been missing it. Brown was making me anxious somehow. When I was buying dye at the store I was afraid my mom was going to say, "oh, don't do that to yourself!" but she actually said, "oh, that's good, you always looked so good with black hair." That was nice. My brother and his lady dyed their hair, too, his is purple and hers is more reddish. Quite pretty. I like his lady. She'd never seen a Kurosawa film so we got to watch both Yojimbo and Sanjuro to initiate her. Tetstuya Nakadai (the young elvisy one, isn't that his name?) is pretty hot, but he's not hot like Mifune... so manly... oh so manly... Somehow she'd also never seen those pretty orange cranes they use to load and unload cargo ships. I suppose she's never lived in a port town, but that still seemed weird to me. We had a nice view of The Mountain behind the twin stadiums from just north of the market as the sun was setting. No one had a camera for some stupid reason. The picture probably wouldn't have turned out anyway.
I bought myself a bunch of crap at the beauty supply today. Hairspray, setting lotion, nail polish hardener... I'm so damn vain. Thank goodness I'm naturally pretty so I don't have to put my hair in rollers every night or, like, wear concealer ever. There was that one time I had to, but that bruise was NASTY. So long as I cover my legs I'm always lookin' damn good. *sigh* At least I'll always have that... well, for the next 10 years if I'm lucky. I might have to learn to impress myself with my smarts someday. Wait, I thought of something clever the other day when the sugar bowl broke and we didn't think we had anymore sugar (we were with extended family at this weird cabin place for christmas). I suggested we put all of it in water and dissolve it, then filter it to get the glass and crap out. My mom gave me the finger, but my brother defended me. He's a good guy.
I really like sleeping with people. Not like that, you perv, just sleeping in the same bed. I love falling asleep against another person, so close, so warm, so comforting. I think the best part is waking up next to them, though, knowing they've been with me the whole night, and knowing they're happy to see me in the morning. If they're not happy to see you in the morning then you've slept in the wrong bed. Whoops.
I also love Soundgarden. In the parking garage today a car drove by me playing Limo Wreck. I love that song, and was singing it for the next 3 hours. Quietly. No one told me to shut up. I wish... well, you all know how I feel about Chris Cornell. *sigh*
I feel sorta the same about Jude Law. Holy Fuck.
I have to go, uh, read now.
