So a few days ago my sister in law got a hold of me and asked me to edit about a dozen photos for her, no offer of payment whether cash or food or anything (mind you I am happy to do it for free when I offer to, but please don't assume so). She sent me the pictures, and I let her know after seeing them that there was only so much I could do with that photos that were that poorly taken (no faces were in focus at all) but that I would do what I could for them.
I get a call this morning from her telling me not to worry about it and she is sorry she asked, and that she won't every ask again. I would say it was passive aggressive, but it was just bitchy.
Mind you in the past she has:
Sent me 100+ pictures to edit with no payment or offer of payment, hell she didn't even ask, just emailed them with a note saying "Vacation pictures to be edited"
Allowed her child to use one of my edits in a local county fair photo contest (My niece took the picture, I did all the editing, and I was not even acknowledged in the entry, I don't begrudge my niece the win i just would have liked some credit for the couple hours I worked on the picture)
And is the ONLY, and I mean ONLY person to ever manage to legitimately offend me, and she did this withing 5 minutes of meeting me for the first time.
