Well the dance show is over. I did pretty well considering that I'm still a beginner student. There were about 50 or so people there watching and lots of students. Everyone seemed to be so much better than me. I was wondering if I was the only beginner there. Well I was the first one up to dance for the show. I was super nervous but did ok. MY first dance was the Waltz. I went through the whole choreograph routine without too much trouble but then the song was still going on so we started again and I lost my concentration for just a moment and forgot where I was in the routine. I asked my instructor while I tried to fake it but got back on cue. The next dance for me was the Tango. I was really proud of myself on that one. I had not been able to do a tango in practice without messing up but on the day of the show I nailed it. I walked my instructor off the floor telling her that I can't believe I did it, I didn't mess up. The third and final dance for me was the Rumba. It went ok for the most part but I missed one of the moves. I asked my instructor where we were at and she told me we just missed the outside partner. So I just simply did it again and was ok after that. All in all it was pretty exciting. The show started at about 10:30 a.m. and went on until about 7:00 p.m. Afterwards my teacher asked me to pick a dance that I could do a solo on for next time. I don't know if I'm ready to tackle a solo but that's for another day. Anyhow, we all went over to an Italian restaurant for dinner which was very nice with excellent food. I have an appointment next Tuesday to speak with the judges who will tell me all the little details that I still need to work on. Today I just taking it easy and resting to recover from a long Saturday.
