a similar thing happened to me last year. my roommate fucked me out of our apartment and got us evicted. i had less than three weeks to find an apartment AND move my stuff out of my bedroom in JP and a studio in south boston, to top it all off, the room i managed to find was only 8' x 9' (the one i am in now, the previous roommate, the one who showed me the apartment flat out lied and said it was 10 x 12)!
but, it has been a good place to live and i got on my feet again after a really tumultous time. so keep you chin up and scour craigslist, you might luck into a good situation before you know it. good luck.
